A video recorder (DVR) can be connected to a TV in various ways. The easiest way to do this is with an HDMI cable, but you can also use an HDMI-DVI cable, component cable, or S-video cable (depending on the TV and DVR connectors).
Steps
Method 1 of 4: HDMI cable

Step 1. Turn off the devices
Turn off your TV and DVR before connecting anything.
However, both devices can be connected to electrical outlets or other power sources

Step 2. Connect one end of the cable to the DVR
Plug one end of a standard HDMI cable into the HDMI 1 Out connector on the back of the DVR.

Step 3. Connect the other end of the cable to your TV
Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI 1 In port on the back or side of the TV.

Step 4. Turn on your TV and DVR
To use the DVR, set the TV to input signal from the connector to which the DVR is connected.
Press the Source or Input button on the TV or remote control to adjust the input signal. Scroll through the options and select “HDMI”
Method 2 of 4: DVI Cable

Step 1. Turn off the devices
Turn off your TV and DVR before connecting anything.
However, both devices can be connected to electrical outlets or other power sources

Step 2. Connect one end of the DVI cable to your TV
Insert one end of the HDMI to DVI cable into the “DVI In” connector on the back or side of the TV.
If you don't have an HDMI-DVI cable, use a standard HDMI cable and HDMI-DVI adapter. In this case, plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI connector on the adapter, and then connect the DVI connector on the adapter to the “DVI In” connector on the TV

Step 3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the DVR
Plug the other end of the HDMI to DVI cable into the HDMI Out port on the back of the DVR.
If you are using an HDMI cable with an adapter, plug the other end of this cable into the HDMI Out port on the DVR

Step 4. Connect the audio cable to the TV
Plug the audio cable into the Audio In sockets on the back of the TV.
Insert the red plug into the red Audio In Right jack and the white plug into the white Audio In Left jack

Step 5. Connect the audio cable to the DVR
Plug the plugs on the other end of the audio cable into the Audio Out connectors on the back of the DVR.
Insert the red plug into the red Audio Out Right jack and the white plug into the white Audio Out Left jack

Step 6. Turn on your TV and DVR
To use the DVR, set the TV to input signal from the connector to which the DVR is connected.
Press the Source or Input button on the TV or remote control to adjust the input signal. Scroll through the options and select “DVI”
Method 3 of 4: Component Cable

Step 1. Turn off the devices

Step 2. Connect one end of the component cable to your TV
Insert the green, blue and red plugs of the component cable into the corresponding Component In jacks on the back or side of the TV.
Insert the green plug into the green "Y" socket, the blue plug into the blue "Pb" socket, the red plug into the red "Pr" socket

Step 3. Connect the other end of the cable to the DVR
The other end of the component cable has the same three plugs - plug each plug into the corresponding Component Out connectors on the back of the DVR.
Insert the green plug into the green "Y" socket, the blue plug into the blue "Pb" socket, the red plug into the red "Pr" socket

Step 4. Connect the audio cable to the TV
A separate audio cable must be used here.
