Want to check if your home network can be hacked? You can check the security of your own network using free programs for hacking networks; remember that it is illegal to hack someone else's network with these programs.
Method 1 of 2: How to start WiFiSlax
Step 1. Download WiFiSlax program and burn it to disk
WiFiSlax is an operating system that can be downloaded from the CD. This system has built-in utilities for cracking wireless networks with WEP encryption (this method is not applicable for cracking networks with WPA / WPA2 encryption!). WiFiSlax can be downloaded for free on the website of its developers.
Burn the downloaded ISO file to a blank CD. To do this, use any program for burning discs. Run the program and click "Burn Image" (or a similar button). Locate the downloaded ISO file on your computer
Step 2. Check your computer hardware
To hack the network, you need an IPW3945 chipset. To find out if your computer has such a chipset, open the Start menu, click Run, type cmd (hereinafter without quotes) and click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, enter "ipconfig / all". Find the line "Intel PRO / Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection". This chipset is often installed on laptops.

Step 3. Configure your computer to boot from CD
Do this to use WiFiSlax. Restart your computer and enter BIOS. To do this, press a specific key that will appear under the logo of the manufacturer of the computer or motherboard. Typically, this key is F2, F10, F12, or Del.
In the BIOS, open the Boot menu. Set the optical drive (CD / DVD drive) as the primary boot device from which the operating system will boot. The system will now boot from the CD instead of the hard drive
Step 4. Boot the WiFiSlax system
When you have configured the BIOS and reboot your computer, press any key to start booting from the CD. When the dialog box opens, click on “No PCMCIA” and press Enter.

- User: root
- Password: toor
- Enter the "startx" command to download WiFiSlax GUI.
Method 2 of 2: How to Hack a WEP Encrypted Network
Step 1. Switch to monitoring mode
Open the Start menu and click WiFiSlax> Asistencia chipset> Asistencia Intel pro wireless> Cargar ipw3945 inyección - ipwray-ng. The network card will go into monitoring mode (wifi0 mode).
Step 2. Enter the command "airodump-ng wifi0"
All information about the wireless network collected in monitoring mode will be displayed.
Pay attention to the network (BSSID) with the highest signal strength. The higher the signal, the easier it is to hack the network. Remember the channel (CH) on which the network is running
Step 3. Launch Airoway
Open the Start menu and click WiFiSlax> Herramientas Wireless> Airoway. Several command lines will open.
Step 4. Select a channel
In the Airoway Command window, select the network channel you want to hack. Press Enter to start the process. Select the access point you want to hack - to do this, click on the corresponding number.
When you select an access point, a menu will open. Select the second (2) option to associate the MAC address, and then select the third (3) option to trigger ARP and speed up the cracking process
Step 5. Wait for the program to collect a sufficient number of packages
This will take a few minutes. The more packets there are, the more likely it is that WEP encryption will be compromised.
When the “Scan” window under “Data” displays a number between 20,000 and 30,000, press the “8” key to crack the key
Step 6. Copy the key
If the process was successful, the key will be displayed in the lower right window. You will find it on the KEY FOUND line. Make sure the "Decrypted Correctly" line displays "100%" - otherwise the key will not work.
The key will be displayed in hexadecimal (HEX) and text (ASCII) formats. The ASCII key is usually entered when connecting to the network
- On Windows, you need to enter the ASCII key (second). If you want, enter the HEX key (the first one), but without the ":" character.
- A network with a weak signal is very difficult and sometimes impossible to hack.
- WiFiSlax is not compatible with some computers or needs to be configured to work with a graphical user interface.
- Occasionally, the Data line must display a number greater than 30,000 in order to successfully hack the network. And sometimes this number must exceed 1,000,000.
- Pay attention to encryption - this method is applicable to WEP, but not to WPA.
- Sometimes it takes over an hour to collect packages. If this happens, try again later, restart your computer, or move it to a different location.
- Sometimes WiFiSlax won't load or doesn't recognize the GUI. In this case, reboot the system.
