How to hide in Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5: 6 steps

In this article, you will learn how to hide behind cover in Grand Theft Auto V. The described methods can be applied to the classic third-person game and to the updated GTA 5 first-person game.

Steps

Step 1. Approach an object behind which you can take cover

These objects are:

• corners;
• boxes;
• cars;
• low walls.

Step 2. Come close to the shelter

The character must stand close to the object behind which he is going to take cover.

Step 3. Press the "Take cover" button

This button depends on the device you are playing Grand Theft Auto 5 on:

• a computer - press Q;
• Xbox - press RB;

• Playstation - press R1.

  

  Step 4. Look out from behind the shelter

  Hold down the Aim button and then right-click (on the computer) or press the left end button of the controller (on the console). You look around a corner or over a cover.

  Release the Aim button to take cover again

  

  Step 5. Shoot from behind cover

  Press the "Fire" button - on the computer press the left mouse button, and on the console press the right end button of the controller. The character will shoot from around a corner or over cover without sticking out his body or head.

  If you aim before this, the shooting will be more accurate, but part of the character's body will appear from behind cover

  

  Step 6. Press the "Take cover" button again

  The character will leave the shelter.

  To leave the hideout, you can simply move away from it
