This article will show you how to create a dispenser in Minecraft. The dispenser can automatically shoot at mobs.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: How to Create a Survival Dispenser (Computer)
Step 1. Gather the required materials
To craft a dispenser, you will need the following:
- One red ore - Get one redstone block. The red stone is found at a depth of level 16. To get the redstone, you need at least an iron pickaxe.
- Seven cobblestones - Get seven cobblestone blocks (gray rock). This can be done with a pickaxe, even a wooden one.
- Three strands - kill three spiders. This is best done during the day, as the spiders become more aggressive at night.
- One wooden block - chop down any tree. If you don't have a workbench, get another wooden block.
- You will also need a workbench to create a dispenser.
Step 2. Craft the boards
Press E to open your inventory and then drag one wooden block to any slot in the inventory crafting grid. Four wooden planks will be created; drag them to your inventory.
Step 3. Open the workbench
To do this, turn to the workbench and right-click.
To create a crafting table, press E and add four wooden planks to the crafting inventory grid slots
Step 4. Craft sticks
To do this, add one plank to the bottom middle slot and one plank to the center slot of the workbench. Four sticks will be made; drag them to your inventory.
Step 5. Craft a bow
This will require three sticks and three threads. Add these items to the workbench slots as follows:
- Sticks - add one stick to the bottom middle, left middle and top middle slots.
- Threads - add one thread to all three slots of the right column.
- When the bow is ready, click on its icon on the right to move it to your inventory.
Step 6. Add a bow to the center slot of the workbench
To do this, simply drag the bow from your inventory to this slot. This is the first step towards crafting a Dispenser.
Step 7. Add cobblestone
Add one block of cobblestone to each slot of the left and right columns, and one block to the top middle slot.
Step 8. Add a red stone to the bottom middle slot
The red stone is the last ingredient. A dispenser icon will appear on the right, which looks like a gray cube with a hole.
Step 9. Click on the dispenser icon
It will move to your inventory. The dispenser can now be installed.

Part 3 of 3: How to Install the Distributor
Step 1. Take the dispenser in your hand
To do this, click on it on the Quick Access Toolbar.
- If the dispenser is not on the Quickbar, press E (or press Y on the Xbox / Triangle button on the PlayStation) and move the Dispenser from your inventory to the Quickbar.
- On an Xbox or PlayStation, press the right end button (above the right trigger) until you select the dispenser.
Step 2. Turn to the block on which you want to place the dispenser
The cursor should be in the center of the screen above the block.
Step 3. Right click
The dispenser will be installed with the barrel facing you.
On Xbox or PlayStation, press the left trigger

- In creative mode, the dispenser is located under the Redstone tab (computer) or the Redstone and tools tab (console).
- Dispensers can automatically shoot mobs; this means you don't have to use a bow and put yourself in danger.
