Minecraft Pocket Edition is a Minecraft mobile app available for iOS, Android, Fire OS and Windows mobile phones and tablets. As with any game or application, sometimes updates are released for them that improve their performance, fix bugs, or expand their capabilities. Updating Minecraft PE on your device is fairly straightforward, and we recommend that you always have the latest version installed for the smoothest game experience and full access to all features.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Update from the Apple App Store

Step 1. Open the App Store on your Apple device
Click on the blue circle with a white A inside to open the App Store.

Step 2. Open the "Updates" tab
Scroll through the Available Updates to see if Minecraft: Pocket Edition is included. If a new update is available for it, it will appear in this list. If you already have the latest version of Minecraft: Pocket Edition installed, then the application will not appear in the list.

Step 3. Click "Update"
Minecraft: Pocket Edition will start updating.
On iOS 7 and later, you can set up automatic app updates. To do this, go to Settings> iTunes & App Store. In the "Automatic downloads" section, enable automatic download of updates (the button should be green). Turn off Cellular Data if you want your phone to auto-download when connected to Wi-Fi
Method 2 of 5: Update from Google Play Store

Step 1. Open Google Play Store
If you have an Android device, look for the multi-colored triangle icon (shaped like a play button). Click on it to open the Play Store.

Step 2. Go to "My Apps"
Click on the menu button (three horizontal bars) in the upper left corner of the Play Store home page and select "My Apps".

Step 3. Find Minecraft: Pocket Edition
Scroll through the list of applications. If an update is available for Minecraft: Pocket Edition, there will be a green Update button next to the application (next to the Delete button).
If there is no “Update” button, then you already have the latest version of the game installed

Step 4. Click "Update"
If a new update is available for the application, select Update, and then it will perform the necessary actions by itself.
- Activate automatic updates for this application by clicking on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the application page and ticking the "Auto update" option.
- To enable automatic updates for all applications, click on the menu button in the upper left corner of the Play Store> Settings, and in the "General" section, select the options "Auto update applications" and "Only over Wi-Fi" to save mobile traffic.
Method 3 of 5: Update on Windows Phone

The Windows Phone Store icon looks like a bag with a flat centered Windows logo. Click on it to launch the Windows Phone Store.

To do this, click on the menu button ("…")> Settings> Check for updates. Wait while the device compiles a list of applications that require updating.

Step 3. Update Minecraft: Pocket Edition
Click Update if a new update is available for this application.

Method 5 of 5: Finding a free update

Step 1. Determine the most recent version
As of May 2017, the latest version of Minecraft: PE is 1.1.0.9. To identify the latest version, enter the search term "latest version of Minecraft: PE".
This method requires the game to be installed on your device

Step 2. Find the download link
Look for "Minecraft: PE 1.1.0.9 Free Download" or "Minecraft: PE Latest APK Version". Download the latest version from the trusted site

Step 3. Determine if the version is compatible
Open the file. If no error appears, then you have successfully downloaded a compatible version.

Step 4. Remove the original application
For the new update to work, you need to uninstall Minecraft: PE from your device. Install the updated version after solving this problem.
