In this article, we'll show you how to charge your Nintendo Switch. This can be done in two ways: using a USB-C charging cable or through the dock, which also serves to transfer the picture from the console to the TV screen.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the dock

Step 1. Plug the USB wall charger into an electrical outlet
We recommend using an official Nintendo Switch wall charger, such as the one that came with your console.

Step 2. Open the back cover of the Nintendo Switch dock
The dock is a rectangular device that ships with the Nintendo Switch. On the top panel of the dock there is a slot into which the set-top box is inserted. The oval Nintendo logo is printed on the back of the dock. Pull on the top of the back of the dock to open it.

Step 3. Connect the USB wall charger to the dock
When you open the back panel of the dock, plug the charger into the USB port labeled “AC Adapter”. The ports are located on a raised surface inside the rear panel. Pass the charging cable through the small hole on the side of the dock.

Step 4. Connect the HDMI cable to the TV and to the dock (cable purchased separately)
Do this to transfer the picture from the set-top box to the TV. If you have opened the rear panel of the dock, connect an HDMI cable to the port labeled “HDMI Out”. Pass the HDMI cable through the small hole on the side of the dock. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDTV port on your TV.

Step 5. Close the back cover
Now place the dock on a solid surface with the console slot facing up and the panel with the Nintendo Switch logo facing you.
If you are placing your Nintendo Switch on a shelf, make sure there is enough space on top to dock the Nintendo Switch

Step 6. Insert the attachment into the dock
To do this, rotate the console so that the screen is facing you (like the dock with the Nintendo logo), and then insert the console into the slot on the top of the dock. If you have inserted the attachment correctly into the dock, the indicator in the lower right corner will light up.
Method 2 of 2: Using a USB cable

Step 1. Plug the USB wall charger into an electrical outlet
We recommend using the official Nintendo Switch Wall Charger; if not, any compatible USB wall charger will do.

Step 2. Connect the USB / C cable to the wall charger (if possible)
Please note that the cable cannot be disconnected from the official Nintendo Switch charging. If you are using a third-party charger, connect the USB / C cable to it. The USB / C cable has an oval plug, which is slightly thicker than a regular microUSB plug.

Step 3. Connect the charging cable to the set-top box
The charging port is an oval connector located at the bottom and center of the set-top box. Insert the charging cable into the charging port to start charging.
