To evolve a Pokemon in Pokemon GO, you must have a certain amount of candy for that particular Pokemon. For example, you need 50 Pikachu candies to evolve it. If you want to get Pikachu candies, catch Pikachu and send them to Professor Willow. Evolve Pokémon as soon as possible, because after that they become more powerful.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: How to Get the Required Quantity of Candy for Pokémon Evolution

Step 1. Determine if you have enough candy for the evolution of the Pokémon
With every Pokémon you catch (Pikachu, for example), you will receive Pikachu candy and stardust. To evolve Pikachu, you need to collect a certain amount of Pikachu candies (or Spiro candies for Spiro evolution, etc.).

Step 2. Run the application
Click on the red and white pokeball at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to a menu with a green background.

Step 3. Click on the button labeled "Pokemon" in the lower left corner of the screen

Step 4. Here you can view a list of all captured Pokémon
Click on one of them (for example, Pikachu).

Step 5. The profile of the selected Pokemon will appear in front of you
On the Pikachu page, a picture of Pikachu himself, his HP (health points), element, weight and height will be displayed. Here you can also see the amount of stardust and a number next to the inscription: "Pikachu Candy". It is this number that indicates the number of Pikachu candies you have.

Step 6. Take a look at the button labeled "Gain"
Immediately after it, under the candy counter, there is a button labeled "Evolution". Pressing this button will allow you to evolve your Pokémon, but only if you have enough candy.
- If you have enough candy, click on the "Evolution" button.
- If you don't have enough candies, collect more.
- Typically, in order to evolve the first form of a Pokémon, you will need to collect 25 to 50 candies. Nevertheless, after the first improvement, this number will certainly increase.
Method 2 of 3: How to get candy by capturing Pokémon

Step 1. Catch the Pokémon you want to evolve
If you want to evolve Pikachu, you will need to catch a certain number of his fellows.

Step 2. Click on the cross at the bottom of the screen if you need to catch more Pikachu
This will take you back to the list of captured Pokémon.

Step 3. Click on the cross again to return to the world map, which displays your avatar

Step 4. Walk around your neighborhood in the real world
Look for Pokémon that will appear on your screen. They look like small dinosaur-like animals that appear near you.

Step 5. Tap on the Pokemon when you see it on the screen
Before you can click on a Pokemon, you may need to get closer to it. After that, the screen will start showing the view from the camera of your phone, in which the Pokemon will be.

Step 6. Catch the Pokemon using the Poke Ball at the bottom of the screen
Use your thumb or forefinger to “throw” the Poké Ball towards the Wild Pokémon to catch it. Click on the pokeball, drag your finger towards the pokemon and release your finger.

Step 7. If you miss, throw the Pokeball again
You will miss if you aim poorly or the Pokémon dodges the Poké Ball. If you don't get it the first time, try throwing the Pokeball a little further.

Step 8. Get candy and stardust for the captured Pokemon
If you, for example, catch a wild Spyrow, you will end up with Spyrow candies.
For the capture of a new Pokemon, they usually give 5-10 candies, for each subsequent one - 3-5 candies

Step 9. Be patient
Wild Pokémon appear in a completely random order, so it will take some time before you catch enough Pokémon of the same species for subsequent evolution.
Method 3 of 3: Receive Candy by Sending Pokémon to Professor Willow

Step 1. Launch the application
Click on the red and white pokeball at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2. Click on the button labeled "Pokemon"

Step 3. Take a look at the list of Pokémon you have
Determine which ones you don't need and which ones you want to evolve. For example, if you have two Pikachus, one of which has 21 CP (battle points) and the other has 11 CP, you should probably keep / evolve the stronger one and send the weaker one. Pokémon with higher CP and HP are more useful in battles.
This strategy applies more to those Pokémon that can be collected in large quantities (for example, Pidzhi or Rattata). If you happen to have two copies of a Rare Pokémon, you should keep them, not hand them over to Professor Willow

Step 4. Click on the Pokemon you want to forward

Step 5. Scroll to the very bottom of the profile until you see a green button that says Forward

Step 6. Click on the button and confirm the sending of the Pokemon
By sending Pikachu to Professor Willow, you will receive Pikachu Candy. The shipment process cannot be reversed. Don't forward the last Pokémon of the same species, or you won't have anyone to evolve!
You will receive one Candy for each Pokémon sent to Professor Willow
Advice
- Launch Pokemon GO in various locations to increase your chances of getting the Pokemon you want.
- Visit PokéStops to get Poké Balls. The more Poké Balls you have, the more Pokémon you can catch.
Warnings
- Remember to look around when you play. You can get so carried away by the game that you stop noticing the world around you.
- Don't be discouraged if you can't find some Pokémon. Wild Pokémon appear in random order.
