How to get Epona in Ocarina of Time: 12 steps

This article will explain how to get Epona in Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time. This is not a walkthrough, and we are not talking about how to grow from a child on a farm to an adult character. We are just going to tell you how to get Epona from Ingo.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: How to Get to Lon Lon and Epona's Ranch

Step 1. Find Lon Lon Ranch

After you meet Zelda in the palace and are escorted out of the Impa palace, you will be standing next to the bridge. Instead of crossing it and walking towards the Mountain of Death, as Impa pointed out to you, look straight ahead. There should be a group of houses on a small hill. This is Lon Lon Ranch.

Step 2. Enter Lon Lon Ranch

Talon (the man you woke up in the palace) and his daughter live here. Run forward between the two buildings and you will see the ranch itself.

Step 3. Learn Epona's Song. Enter the platform to the horses and you will see a little girl there who will sing. Talk to her. She will thank you for waking her father up and continue singing. Take out your ocarina and learn Epona's Song.

Step 4. Leave the ranch and go to Death Valley

Complete two dungeons. After that, go to the Temple of Time to grow up.

Step 5. Return to Lon Lon Ranch when you are an adult

You will see that the ranch has changed. The farm is now owned by Ingo, and he has become an ally of Ganandorf. You will see that the ranch is now used for horse racing. Play Ingo by placing a bet. Choose a horse. You won't be able to win the first time. When you run out of time, you will be kicked out.

Step 6. Pay again to return to the game

Pull out your ocarina and play Epona's song, Epona will run up to you. Sit on it and go to the entrance where Ingo is. • Do not overfeed Epona with carrots. Some players defeat Ingo without using a lot of carrots. Use all carrots towards the end of the race.

Step 4. When you do beat Ingo, know that he will be very angry

Step 5. You need to jump over the fence

Step 6. Land on the other side of the wall on Epona

On a horse, you move much faster. The world can be skipped in just thirty seconds (it takes 3 minutes on foot).

• Use the carrots to get ahead of Ingo. Then block his path so that he cannot overtake you.
• Never press the Z button on Ingo.
• When you see the finish line, press A as much as possible.
• Bend around the corners smoothly.
