If your PSP is frozen, restart it. If it malfunctions, restore the factory settings, which will not delete the games (unless you format the memory card).

Method 1 of 3: How to restart a frozen PSP console

Step 1. Slide the power switch up and hold for 30 seconds
In most cases, this will turn off the PSP.
If that doesn't work, hold the Right Shoulder button and then hold the power switch for 5 seconds. The PSP will turn off

Step 2. Wait a little
We recommend that you wait about 30 seconds and then turn on your PSP.

Step 1. Open the XMB menu
This will access the settings menu.

Step 2. Scroll left to open the settings menu

Step 3. Scroll down and select "System Preferences"

Step 4. Select "Restore Default Settings"
If you also want to format the memory card, select "Format Memory" from the "System Preferences" menu

Step 5. Follow the prompts on the screen
When the Sony logo is displayed, set up your PSP as a new console.
Method 3 of 3: How to restore factory settings

Step 1. Slide the power switch up to turn off the PSP
When the console turns off, do not turn it on for at least 30 seconds.
Use this method if you can't turn on your PSP as usual

Step 2. Press and hold the triangle, square, circle, and x buttons
You may need to put your PSP on the table to accomplish this.

Step 3. While holding the buttons, slide the power switch to turn on the PSP

Step 4. Continue holding the buttons until the Sony logo appears
