It will take much longer to download the game than to download the WikiHow article. Naturally, the Xbox takes a while to download the game, but this can slow down your internet connection at a critical juncture, such as when you are playing Call of Duty. To avoid this problem, download games in the background (that is, when the Xbox is turned off).
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Xbox One

Step 1. Go to the home screen
This is the main menu that is loaded every time the set-top box is turned on. To go to the Home Screen, press the center X button on your controller and select Home Screen.

Step 2. Press the "Menu" button on the controller
This little button is in the center right.

Step 3. In the "Settings" menu, select "Power on and start"
Here you can configure the instant access mode, which the set-top box will enter when it turns off. The console will automatically update.

Step 4. Select "Instant Access Mode"
Now, when you turn off the console, it will go into instant access mode, that is, downloading games will continue.
Method 2 of 3: Xbox 360

Step 1. Stop any downloads that were running prior to activating low power mode
The Xbox 360 will only finish downloading when it turns on. This mode is enabled by default, so if you start the download and then turn off the console, the download of the game will continue later.
Next, we'll show you how to turn on Low Power Mode if you think it's off

Step 2. Press the center X button and select Settings
This can be done on any screen.

Step 3. Select System Preferences> Console Settings
Here you can change your power settings.

Step 4. Find the "Download in the background" option and activate it
It's in the Startup and Shutdown section. Background download is now enabled.
Method 3 of 3: Xbox

Step 1. Go to your Xbox dashboard
To do this, select "Home" in the upper right corner.

Step 2. Select "Console Settings" from the drop-down menu

Step 3. Select Start & Shutdown
Here you can configure background downloads.

Step 4. Select Load When Off

Step 5. Turn off your Xbox when you're done playing
- The Xbox will not shut down completely and the power button will flash.
- The game will continue to load at 1/4 the speed it did when the Xbox was on.
