Don't waste time looking for the right disc in your vast collection of games - just buy a game online and download it to your console's hard drive. You can of course install a game from disc to your Xbox hard drive, but you still won't be able to play it without the disc - this step will speed up the game load, reduce optical drive noise, and extend the life of the disc itself.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Connect your Xbox to the Internet

Step 1. Connect your Xbox to the internet using an Ethernet cable
To download the game, you need to connect to Xbox Live. This is only possible if you have an active internet connection. For a wired network connection, you will need an Ethernet cable, modem, gateway or router, and high-speed internet.
