Are you a gamer looking for the best gaming experience on your PC? Do you want to play peacefully with your Xbox 360 controller instead of frenzied mouse clicks? Then you've come to the right place. You can connect your Xbox 360 controller to your PC and use it in games by downloading the software and configuring the desired settings.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Set up a wired Xbox 360 controller

Step 1. Install the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows
The controller may come with an installation disc, with which you can adapt the controller to play on a PC. If you have an installation disc, then follow these steps:
- Insert the installation disc and wait for the installation screen to appear.
- Then click "Install".
- Wait for the Xbox 360 Accessories installer to install the required files on your PC.

Step 2. If you do not have an installation disc, then download the necessary files from the Microsoft website
You can download the wired controller driver from the link [1]. Follow these instructions:
- Select your Windows version from the list and start downloading the software.
- Select "Run".
- Wait for the Xbox 360 Accessories installer to install the required files on your PC.

Step 3. After installing the required files, plug the controller into the USB 2.0 port

Step 4. Check if your Xbox controller is working properly
To ensure that the software and controller are working correctly, follow these steps:
- Follow the path Start → type " Run"→ type" joy.cpl"→ click Enter
- Go to the Xbox 360 controller section and select Properties.
- Press all buttons, triggers and move the sticks in all directions. The corresponding element of the controller should be highlighted on the screen at this moment.
Method 2 of 3: Installing the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller

Step 1. Purchase a receiver for your Xbox 360 controller if you haven't already
The receiver uses a USB 2.0 connection. If it doesn't fit into your PC's USB port, try the slot on the back of the case.

Step 2. If the Found New Hardware Wizard does not start automatically, then install the receiver software manually
If your Xbox controller came with an installation disc, you can use it to start the installation. Otherwise, you can download the controller driver from the link [2].
In both cases, follow Steps 1 and 2 from Method 1

Step 3. Turn on the Xbox 360 controller that you want to use in conjunction with the receiver
To do this, you can:
- Hold down the "Guide" button on your controller.
- Turn on the receiver by clicking on the "Connect" button.
- Press the "Connect" button on the back of the wireless controller.

Step 4. Follow the steps listed until the controller LEDs start blinking green
If the indicators stop blinking and turn solid green, this means that your controller has been connected.
Method 3 of 3: Adjusting Settings

Step 1. Go to the properties of the controller
For this:
- Follow the path Start → type " Run"→ type" joy.cpl"→ click Enter
- While in the game controllers window, click on the button XNA Gamepad, then on the "Properties" button.
- Please select Properties → Calibration

Step 2. When prompted, use the left stick instead of the D-pad
This will ensure that the left stick is working correctly.

Step 3. Follow the instructions of the calibration wizard
The Calibration Wizard will require you to take steps to set up your controller. After finishing the configuration, click "Apply".
Advice
- You can customize the controls to your liking using special programs. GlovePIE is a free option.
- Don't expect vibration support in all games. Most older games don't have it.
