There are two ways to connect your Xbox to the internet: wired or wireless. Both methods are simple enough and will allow you to unleash all the possibilities of Xbox Live and play with your friends over the Internet.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Connect Xbox One

Step 1. Connect your Xbox One to the Internet
If you want to connect Xbox One, then follow the instructions at the following link. These methods are generally similar, but there are some differences.
Method 2 of 3: Wired connection

Step 1. Use an Ethernet cable
The Xbox 360 ships with an Ethernet cable, which you will need. You can also use any other cable that is compatible with your console. Pay attention to the length of the cable, it should not be too short.

Step 2. Connect Ethernet cable
You will find a cable jack on the back of your Xbox 360. Plug one end of the cable into this jack and the other into your router or directly into your modem. Make sure the cable is firmly seated in the socket.

Step 3. Turn on your console
Once you have connected both ends of the cable, you can turn on the console.
- You can turn on your Xbox 360 by touching the sensor on the front panel or by pressing the Home button on your controller. You can also click on the eject button and the console will start automatically.
- After downloading, the console will automatically connect to the Internet.
Method 3 of 3: Wireless connection

Step 1. Access via Wi-Fi
Xbox 360 can connect to a wireless network with ease. The console has a built-in Wi-Fi adapter that will automatically connect to the router.

Step 2. Turn on your console
When you turn it on for the first time, the console will not be able to automatically connect to the Internet because the appropriate settings have not yet been made.

Step 3. Connecting the router
All available Wi-Fi points will be automatically shown in the network connections menu. As soon as your router appears in this list, select it and you will be able to connect to the Internet. You may need to enter a password depending on your router settings. From now on, Xbox 360 will save your router settings and will automatically connect to the Internet the next time you boot.
- If your console has a wired internet connection, what exactly will it be used. If you want to use a wireless connection, then just disconnect the cable.
- You may need to further configure your connection if your console cannot connect to the Internet. If in doubt, put everything on automatic or reset to default settings.
