The Xbox 360 Headset lets you chat with friends and rivals on Xbox Live. There are several headset connection options available, including a wired headset and two wireless connection options. Connecting these headsets is quite simple and you can already shout commands or just chat for a few minutes.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Connecting a wired headset

Step 1. Decrease the headset volume
This will help prevent hearing damage when you first wear it.

Step 2. Connect the headset to the controller
There is a connector at the bottom of the controller, in the center. Connect a headset to this jack.

Step 3. Put the headset down
When you start playing, slowly increase the volume until it reaches a level you are comfortable with.
The headset is not only designed for voice chat, but any music or sound will also be transferred through the headset

Step 4. Determine the problem with the defective headset
If the headset does not work, it may be defective or the connector is dirty. Make sure the wires are intact and that there is no dirt in the connector. Use a cotton swab to wipe the connector with rubbing alcohol.
Method 2 of 3: Connecting a wireless headset

Step 1. Charge the headset before using it
Connect the charging cable to the jack on your headset and the other end of the cable to a USB port on your Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 must be turned on to charge the headset.
- If you have an AC adapter, you can use it to charge your headset. The headset will not work while charging.
- When the headset is fully charged, 4 lights will flash simultaneously on the headset. This may take a couple of hours.

Step 2. Turn on your console and headset
Turn on your Xbox and press the power button on your headset. Press the Connect button on your Xbox 360, and then press and hold the Connect button on your headset for two seconds.
The headset connects to both the console and the controller. Lights on the headset will indicate which controller it is connected to. You can change the controller by clicking the "Connect" button

Step 3. Disconnect your headset
Press and hold the power button to turn off the headset. The headset beeps twice whenever parameters are changed.

Step 4. Adjust the volume
To do this, use the "+" and "-" buttons.
Method 3 of 3: Connect an Xbox 360 Bluetooth Headset

Step 1. Update your Xbox 360
You must have the latest operating system installed in order to use a Bluetooth headset.

Step 2. Charge the headset before using it
Connect the charging cable to the jack on the headset. Connect the other end to a USB port on the Xbox 360. Your Xbox 360 must be turned on to charge the headset.
- After the lights stop flashing, charging is complete.
- While charging, the headset will automatically connect to the Xbox 360.

Step 3. Connect the headset wirelessly
If you haven't connected your Xbox 360 headset for charging, then you can establish a wireless connection. Once connected, the connection will be established every time the headset is within range of the Xbox signal.
- Install the switch on the side of the headset to display green. This will put the headset into Xbox mode.
- Press and hold the power button for two seconds. The headset indicator will blink green.
- After you hear the headset start up, press and hold the “Connect” button on the headset for two seconds.
- Press and release the Connect button on the Xbox 360 within 20 seconds. The headset blinks three times.

Step 4. Change the assigned controller
The headset connects to both the console and the controller. Lights on the headset will indicate which controller it is connected to. You can change the controller by holding the power button or the "Connect" button on the headset.
