In the beginning, playing Dark Souls can seem overwhelming. Death awaits at every corner, and the bosses seem invincible. The Taurus Demon, which occurs at the beginning of the game, is no exception. A beginner might think that this boss has no weaknesses, but if you read this manual, you can defeat him in a flash. Scroll down and find out how you can do this.

General preparation
Step 1. Find the location where the Taurus Demon is
The Taurus Demon is likely to be the second boss you'll encounter, and it's hard to miss if you're following the road through Undead City. After you light a fire in the City of Undead, follow the bridge, past the hollow fire bombs, up the large steps and through the city until you reach a large tower. On the second floor there will be a foggy gate, and behind them is the Taurus Demon. But be careful - you won't be able to return until you defeat the boss, so only go through well prepared.
Step 2. Get ready to meet the Taurus Demon
Whichever method you choose to fight the demon, you need to raise your Stamina and Dexterity a little, since during the battle you will do a lot of somersaults and you will run a lot. Alternatively, you can stock up on fire bombs (about 20 to be safe), which you can buy from a merchant under two hollow spear soldiers in Undead City, near a local bonfire.
Step 3. Enter the misty gate
You will find yourself on a dilapidated bridge with a watchtower in front of you and another tower with a ladder and two hollow archers behind you.
Step 4. Get rid of the hollow archers on the watchtower behind you
Fighting the Taurus Demon in the presence of hollows shooting at you can be difficult. Both methods you can use to fight the demon require the use of a watchtower, so defeating the hollow ones will make it easier for you. Climb the stairs and deal with both of them.
Step 5. Move to the middle of the bridge
At a certain moment, the trigger for the arrival of the Taurus Demon will go off, which will descend from the watchtower.
Step 6. Run back to the cleared watchtower and decide which method you want to deal with the Taurus Demon
Method 1 of 5: Using Fire Bombs
Step 1. Kill the Taurus Demon using fire bombs
This method is by far the simplest, but it takes more time than others.
Step 2. Run to the first watchtower and climb the stairs up
The Taurus Demon will be waiting for you below.
Step 3. Walk up to the edge of the tower and look down
Step 4. Aim at the Taurus Demon with the right analog stick of your Xbox 360 controller
Step 5. Select a fire bomb and throw it at the Taurus Demon by pressing the X button on your controller
It will explode and take a little health bar from the beast.
Step 6. Run quickly to the stairs and descend about one third of its height
Even though you might be tempted to throw a second bomb at this point, it usually takes a long time to throw it and the Taurus Demon will quickly kill you. You can also accidentally fall off the tower, as throwing the firebomb moves you forward slightly.
Step 7. Wait for the Taurus Demon to jump onto the tower and jump off it
The Taurus Demon will think that you are on the tower and jump on it, but if you timed the time correctly and climbed down the stairs, he will soon jump back onto the bridge.
Step 8. Climb the stairs back and repeat the process until you kill the Taurus Demon
It may take a long time, but this method is the safest and easiest way for beginners to defeat this boss.
Method 2 of 5: Using Top-Down Attacks
Step 1. After triggering the appearance of the boss, quickly run back to the tower
Step 2. Climb the stairs to the watchtower
The Taurus Demon by this time will already be waiting below.
Step 3. Walk to the edge and throw yourself down on the head of the Taurus Demon
Step 4. While falling, press the attack button (right trigger button on the Xbox controller) to perform a mid-air strike
Your character will hit the Taurus Demon on the head and take a significant amount of health from him.
Step 5. Save yourself from the clutches of the Taurus Demon
After completing the attack, you will find yourself between the foggy gate and the demon himself. If you quickly roll between the legs of the Taurus Demon, you can escape without getting hurt. If you have time, you can quickly cut his legs as you run past. Do not try to climb back up the stairs immediately, as the Taurus Demon will hit you before you climb up.
Step 6. Run quickly to the other end of the bridge and back
The Taurus Demon will quickly run after you, so when you find yourself at the end of the bridge, you will need to roll again between his legs and run to the first watchtower.
Step 7. Climb the ladder and repeat the process of hitting the airborne demon and retreating until you kill the Taurus Demon
In general, this is a more difficult method, since you will be within the demon's reach more often than using fire bombs, but the large chunks of health taken from air attacks complete the fight much faster and allow you to save fire bombs for other enemies.
Method 3 of 5: False Bounce
This method ensures that the Taurus Demon commits suicide.
Step 1. First, stand on the same edge as in the previous method
Wait for the Taurus Demon to start attacking you.
Step 2. Dash under him and quickly deliver a few blows to his legs, staying on the opposite side of the edge (the Demon should stand between you and the abyss)
There is a high probability that he will jump back and fall into the abyss.
Method 4 of 5: Committing Suicide by the Taurus Demon
Step 1. Lure the Taurus Demon to the section of the bridge with the destroyed side part

Method 5 of 5: Killing the Bull Demon with Hollows on the Watchtower
Step 1. Let them shoot at you

Step 2. Go to the bridge
As soon as the arrows shoot at you a little, start running across the bridge until the Taurus Demon appears.
Step 3. Dodge

Advice
- By killing hollow with fire bombs, you can easily replenish your stocks of fire bombs without having to buy them. Also, if you have humanity, you are more likely to find them on defeated hollows.
- An easier way to get the Taurus Demon to commit suicide is to stand on the ruined edge of the bridge and let him throw you off. In most cases, it will fall with you. You will die, but it will be assumed that you killed him, and since this is the boss, he will not appear again. You can later replenish your lost souls by climbing the bridge and collecting them.
- Black fire bombs are more deadly than regular fire bombs, so if you pick up or find such bombs, keep in mind that they make the battle much easier when using the fire bomb method.
- Instead of fire bombs, you can use magic or pyromancy, which are also very effective against the Taurus Demon.
- If you need to drink the contents of the estus flask to replenish your health, then either run a sufficient distance from the Taurus Demon strike, or wait until you are at the top of the tower, since you will have a few seconds left before he will jump on her and try to attack you.
- If you get stuck next to the Taurus Demon, try to block his attacks with your shield. This will reduce your energy and possibly a small amount of health, but will reflect the bulk of the damage from the attack.
Warnings
- Dark Souls is hard and it was conceived like this. It takes patience and effort, so don't be discouraged if you die on the first try.
- Don't get too close to the edge of the bridge, unless you plan to force the boss to commit suicide. A circular attack often knocks unwary players off the bridge.
