Densely populated and nearly empty game worlds have their own advantages and disadvantages:
- On densely populated servers, you will see people wherever you go. This makes the game more "lively". There will also be tons of guilds to join and find friends to chat with. The high population can make it a problem when visiting cities on some computers, depending on how many characters the machine has to draw at a time. There may also be queues to access the server. - Medium populated servers are the best choice as there are no queues to access, but there are enough people to immerse themselves in the game.
- Sparsely populated servers run smoother in areas that are usually crowded and you never have to wait in line to play. As players explore the game world, hours can pass without encountering a single player. On such servers, there are significantly fewer guilds and it is more difficult to create a new one.
Step 3. Select the faction you will represent
The history of World of Warcraft is based on two hostile factions, the Horde and the Alliance. Many servers are one-sided, with too strong Horde players or vice versa. Step 2. Select a region
On the Realm Pop home page, at the beginning, you need to select the region whose servers you want to check.
- US Region - This list will list all known WOW servers in the US region.
- EU Region - This list will show all known WOW servers in the European region.
Step 3. Sort by population
On the right, in the header of the table, click on “Total” to sort the servers by population.
Step 4. Scroll down to the population that suits you
The low population has fewer than 100,000 characters, the middle population ranges from 100,000 to 160,000, and the high population has more than 160,000.
Step 5. Find servers with a region and type that suits your play style
The fourth column in the table contains the server region, and the second is the server type.
Step 6. Find the servers that are in your time zone
The fifth column of the table contains the primary time zone for this server.
Joining a server that matches your time zone will be helpful, as other players will have similar daily routines, and it will be easier to make online friends with whom you can play
Step 7. Choose a server that will be supportive of your faction
The 8th column of the table contains the A / H (Alliance / Horde) ratio, which displays the number of Alliance players per Horde player. A ratio below 1.0 favors the Horde, and above 1.0 favors the Alliance.
- If you are going to play for both factions, choose a server with an A / H ratio closest to 1.0.

Step 1. Join the server where your friends are playing
If you already have friends playing on a specific server, then join them. This will make the game much more fun.
