In this article, we'll show you how to access Google support resources. You cannot contact Google Support by phone or email, but you can ask a question about a specific device (for example, your Android smartphone) or send an email to Google Press. In most cases, contacting Google will not solve the problem. Since you cannot contact Google about many services, such as Gmail or YouTube, use the Google Help Center for instructions. Be aware that many of the numbers and email addresses allegedly owned by Google are in fact fraudulent.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Google Help Center
Step 1. Understand how the Google Help Center works
Since Google cannot help every customer, such as resetting a password or recovering an account, the Help Center has a list of topics with instructions on how to solve the most common problems.
You won't be able to contact Google through the Help Center, but it will likely help you solve most problems with Google services
Step 2. Open the Google Help Center
Go to https://support.google.com/ in your computer's web browser.
Step 3. Select a product or service
Click on the name of the product / service you are having problems with.
For example, if you are having problems with Google Chrome, select "Google Chrome"
Step 4. Review the available support resources
A list of common topics will appear in the center of the page - search it for your question or problem.
Step 5. Select a support resource category
Select the appropriate category for your question or problem. The category expands to display a list of support resource topics.
- If you clicked on a category and went directly to the support article, skip the next step.
- You can also enter a question or problem in the search bar at the top of the page.
Step 6. Select a support resource topic
Click on one of the topics in the expanded category. The topic support article will open.
If you entered a question or issue in the search bar, click on the topic that appears in the menu below the search bar
Step 7. Follow the instructions in the support article
Please read the support article that opens carefully and then follow the instructions to try to resolve the issue.
- You may need to follow instructions from several articles to completely solve the problem.
- On the right side of most support articles, there is a list of related articles.
Step 8. Find the support phone number for your Android smartphone
To get support for your Android smartphone (but not the Pixel model), find the appropriate phone number to call. For this:
- Click Pixel Phone in the Help Center.
- Click "Contact" in the upper right corner of the page.
- Click Android Device Support.
- Review the list of phone numbers that opens.
Step 9. Request a conversation about your Pixel smartphone
If you have a Pixel 1 or Pixel 2 smartphone, you can get Google support via live chat or phone. For this:
- Click Pixel Phone in the Help Center.
- Click "Contact" in the upper right corner of the page.
- Click Pixel Device Support.
- Select your Pixel model.
- Click “Request a call back” to contact by phone, or “Request a chat” to use the instant messaging service.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
Step 10. Request a conversation about Google Drive
Google Drive is the only service that is supported in real time. To request support via live chat or email:
- Click Google Drive in the Help Center.
- Click "Contact" in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select a topic and category if prompted.
The "Request a call back" option will be unavailable at this stage
- Click Request Chat or Email Support.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to start a chat or email.
Method 2 of 2: Contacting Directly with Google
Step 1. Remember that you can only contact Google directly in some cases
If you are not a member of the press or a G Suite administrator, you can contact Google by paper or apply for a job.
The only exceptions to this rule - Android smartphone support, Pixel smartphone support, and Google Drive support - are listed in the previous section
Step 2. Never call a phone number found on a site that does not belong to Google
At the moment, several fraudulent numbers can be found on the network, which supposedly can be used to contact Google. To avoid fraud or just not waste your time, only call the number that is listed on sites or in Google documents. For example, you can call the number on your G Suite form.
- The same goes for email addresses and regular addresses.
- Google employees will never be interested in your password when talking on the phone or chatting.
Step 3. Send an email to the Google Press Office
If you are a member of the press and would like to contact Google, please send an email to
[email protected]
… Depending on the subject of your email, you will or may not receive a response.
Google only responds to emails from well-known members of the press
Step 4. Send an email to your Google email address
If you do not mind sending a paper letter and not receiving a response, the Google address in Russia is: st. Balchug 7, Moscow, 115035, Russia, or in the USA: 1600 Amphitheater Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google is unlikely to respond to a regular email, so don't send it if it's an urgent or sensitive matter.
Step 5. Contact G Suite Support
Regular users won't be able to do this, but G Suite admins have access to 24/7 customer support. To use G Suite to connect with Google, you must be a G Suite administrator and follow these steps:
- Go to https://gsuite.google.com/intl/en/support/ in a web browser.
- Select a contact method (for example, click Phone Support if you want to call Google).
- Click Sign In.
- Sign in with your G Suite admin credentials.
- Follow the instructions on the screen. If you call Google, you will have to follow the verbal instructions.
Step 6. Apply to work with Google
The last way to contact Google directly is to apply for a job at that company. You can view open positions and apply on the Google Careers page:
- Go to https://careers.google.com/jobs in your computer's web browser.
- Change the location in the text box to the right of the page to match your preferred location.
- Click the 'Search jobs' text box, then press ↵ Enter.
- View open vacancies.
- Select a job and click “Apply” in the upper right corner.
- Complete the application and follow the instructions on the screen.
Advice
Many people feel that they should definitely contact Google to solve problems like password recovery, account change and similar. Unfortunately, Google has neither the time nor the staff to help every user
