Learn how to set up a Pinterest button in your computer's browser to see which photos on a page are compatible with Pinterest and add them to your board in this article.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: How to install a button
Step 1. Open the Pinterest site

The button can be installed in the browser Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer
Step 2. Click Install our button for browser
You will find this red button on the right side of the page. Then follow the steps that are browser dependent:
- Chrome: Click Install Extension when prompted. Chrome will refresh the page when the Pinterest button is installed.
- Firefox: Click “Allow” at the top left of the page when prompted and then click “Install”.
- Safari: Click the download arrow at the top right of Safari, double-click the installation file and click Install.
- Internet Explorer: Click Run at the bottom of the page and then click Install. Close Internet Explorer, follow the instructions on the screen, and then open Internet Explorer.
Step 3. Find the Pinterest button
It's a red button with a white "P"; in most cases, this button is located in the upper-right side of the browser window.
If there is no Pinterest button, try restarting your browser. You may need to install the button again if it still doesn't appear
Part 2 of 2: How to use the button
Step 1. Go to the site with the images you want to add to the board
For example, in a search engine, enter keywords that describe the images you want.
Typically, you cannot add images to the board that are on social networking sites (such as Facebook)
Step 2. Click the Pinterest button
You will find it in the upper right corner of the browser window. A page with compatible content will open.
Wait a few seconds for the page to fill up with content
Step 3. Click Save on Image
You will see this button in the upper left corner of the photo when you hover your mouse over it. A window will open where you can select a board.
If you are not already signed in to your Pinterest account, in the window that opens, click Sign In, and then enter your email address and password
Step 4. Click the Save button to the right of the board name
The selected image will be added to the corresponding board. The next time you open your Pinterest page, you'll find your added image.
You can also click New Board at the bottom of the window to create a new board
Advice
If the photo you want is compatible with Pinterest, a Pinterest Save button appears in the top-left corner of the photo when you hover over the photo. Click Save to select your Pinterest board
Warnings
- The Pinterest button cannot be installed in Microsoft Edge and Opera.
- Some images cannot be added to the board using the Pinterest button.
