Steps
Step 1. Explore your torrent client
Most modern clients can create torrents (only a minority cannot). For a free client that can create torrents, try µTorrent for Windows and Mac, Transmission for Mac, Deluge for Linux, or JSTorrent for Chrome OS. (Note: JSTorrent cannot create torrents. It is just a torrent client for Chromebooks).
Step 2. Select the option to create a new torrent file
It is usually found in the File menu and is called "Create New Torrent" or something like that. If it is not there, try looking in other menus or toolbars. If you are still in no doubt, check your client's official website for more details. Sometimes the method of dragging and dropping a folder file onto the client also works.
Step 3. Select the files you want to be in the torrent
If you have multiple files, consider organizing them all into a folder first, so you can simply select that folder to use as torrent content. The name of your torrent file will usually be the name of the file or folder in it. You can easily rename the file later.
Step 4. Enter the tracker
The tracker controls the data transfer for your torrent. The tracker is similar to a regular URL. A list of working public torrent trackers can be found here. If you want to index your torrent on a torrent download website, then you must use a tracker belonging to that site, as not all indexed sites will allow external trackers. If you are using a private tracker (you probably are not), then be sure to check the box to mark it as private. Do not mark this box in any other way.

You can add a comment to the torrent if you like. The size of the piece should be left to auto adjust if you are unsure what you are doing. Once you've filled in all the required areas, create your torrent. You may be asked where to save and what to name the.torrent file, or you may have been prompted to do so.
Step 6. Now that you have your torrent file, open it ready for seeding
Some clients have a distribution mode specifically for this. If you are not sharing your torrent, it will be useless because no one can download the files.
Step 7. Share the torrent
If you create a torrent then you can send a file to a friend, just send them a.torrent file. If you want it to be open to the public for download, you'd better list it on the torrent download site. After you find a link on such a site, add or download a new torrent and fill in the required information. You will probably need to register if you haven't already. Once people start downloading a torrent from this site, it will get more and more giveaways. If you wish, you can stop the upload when the torrent is "stable", or continue uploading.
