This article describes how to make a WiFi antenna very efficient and easy if you have lost the OEM antenna that came with the card. Note: This has only been tested with the D-Link DWL-AG530 card, your results may vary. This article is intended to help you make an antenna for an RP-SMA card, but you can adapt it to suit your needs.
Steps

Step 1. Find a (large) paperclip, Bic pen and some duct tape

Step 2. Straighten the paperclip so that you have a straight piece of metal

Step 3. Bend about 2 cm of one end of the paper clip to a right angle

Step 4. Pull the ink rod out of the pen, and cut it approximately 1.27cm - 2cm
Be careful, you may get a little dirty.:)

Step 5. Place the cut piece of rod into the curved end of the staple, but make sure the end of the staple protrudes approximately 0.16 cm beyond the end of the tube

Step 6. Take a lighter or other heat source and CAREFULLY heat the tube around the paper clip
This will shrink it and make the staple fit snugly on the paperclip.

Step 7. Wrap a paperclip with duct tape to prevent excessive interference from the wireless signal

Step 8. Insert the 'shaft' end of the paper clip into the antenna connector so that the pin connector and paper clip are pressed together inside the tube
If you can get them to overlap, that's even better.
Advice
- You can experiment with a paper clip, maybe more than once, you will make the antenna even better!
- Don't be afraid to tinker, it's interesting.:)
