Using bookmarks, you can save the addresses of pages that open many times. But it is so easy to bookmark a page that over time there are too many of them, so unnecessary bookmarks should be deleted regularly. Getting rid of a bookmark is quite simple - you only need to perform a few steps no matter what browser you are using.
Steps
Method 1 of 8: Chrome

Step 1. Right-click on any bookmark and select "Delete" from the menu
This way you can permanently delete a bookmark at any time. This action applies to bookmarks in the bookmarks bar, in the bookmark manager, or in the list of the Bookmarks section of the Chrome menu. Be aware that there will be no warnings or prompts when deleting a bookmark.

Step 2. Open the bookmark manager
Use Chrome's built-in Bookmark Manager utility to open a list of all your bookmarks. To open the bookmark manager in a new tab, do one of the following:
- Open the Chrome menu and choose Bookmarks> Bookmark Manager. A new tab will open.
- Press ⌘ Command / Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + O to open the Bookmark Manager in a new tab.
- Enter chrome: // bookmarks in the address bar to open the bookmark manager in the current tab.

Step 3. Review the bookmarks
All bookmarks will be displayed in the bookmark manager. You can open folders and view the bookmarks stored in them.
- If you're signed in to Chrome with your Google account, bookmarks will sync across all of your devices.
- Deleting a folder will delete all bookmarks that are in it.

Step 4. Open the bookmarks bar
It will appear below the address bar and will contain bookmarks. They can be quickly removed from this panel.
- Open the Chrome menu and choose Bookmarks> Show Bookmarks Bar from the menu.
- Press ⌘ Command / Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + B
Method 2 of 8: Internet Explorer

Step 1. Right-click on any bookmark and select "Delete" from the menu
In Internet Explorer, bookmarks are called "Favorites" and can be deleted as described above. You can remove bookmarks from the Favorites sidebar or from the Favorites menu bar.

Step 2. Open the Favorites sidebar to view your bookmarks
All bookmarks are displayed in the sidebar. There are several ways to open the sidebar:
- Click the star (☆) icon and then go to the Favorites tab.
- Press Alt + C and go to the Favorites tab.

Step 3. Open the bookmark manager to view them
Bookmarks can be viewed using the bookmark manager, which allows you to open and close bookmark folders.
- Tap Favorites> Arrange Favorites. If the Favorites menu is not displayed on the screen, press Alt.
- Click on a folder to open or close it.
- Deleting a folder will delete all bookmarks that are in it.

Step 4. Find the bookmarks in Windows Explorer
Internet Explorer stores bookmarks as files that can be found in Explorer. This way you can easily remove a large number of bookmarks.
- Open File Explorer (⊞ Win + E) and navigate to C: \ Users \ username \ Favorites. All Internet Explorer bookmarks will appear as files and folders.
- Drag the bookmark files to the Trash, or right-click on them and select "Delete" from the menu.
Method 3 of 8: Edge

Step 1. Click on the Edge menu button
It looks like three horizontal lines.

Step 2. Click on the Favorites tab
An asterisk (☆) will appear on the tab. In Edge, bookmarks are called Favorites.

Step 3. Right-click (or press and hold with your finger) on the bookmark and select "Delete" from the menu
This will immediately delete the bookmark. Deleting a folder will delete all bookmarks that are in it.
You cannot delete the Favorites folder
Method 4 of 8: Firefox

Step 1. Open the sidebar of bookmarks
This is the easiest way to view all bookmarks. Click on the clipboard icon next to the Bookmark icon and select Bookmarks Bar from the menu.

Step 2. Expand the categories to view the bookmarks
Added bookmarks are sorted into categories. Expand each category to display bookmarks, or find the bookmarks you want using the search bar.

Step 3. Right-click on the bookmark and select "Delete" from the menu
The bookmark will be deleted immediately.
You can right-click on a bookmark in the bookmark menu, in the bookmark bar, or anywhere else where the bookmarks are located

Step 4. Open the Library to manage your bookmarks
If you need to get rid of a large number of bookmarks, the Library will make it easier to find and delete them.
- Click the clipboard icon and choose Show All Bookmarks from the menu, or press ⌘ Command / Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + B.
- Select several bookmarks at once. To do this, hold down Ctrl / ⌘ Command and click on each tab.
Method 5 of 8: Safari

Step 1. Open the Bookmarks menu and select Edit Bookmarks
The bookmark manager will open.
Alternatively, press ⌘ Command + ⌥ Option + B

Step 2. Control-click and click on the bookmark you want to delete and select "Delete" from the menu
This will immediately delete the bookmark.

Step 3. To remove a bookmark from the Favorites panel, hold down Control and click on the bookmark
That is, right-click on a bookmark on the specified panel and select "Delete" from the menu.
Method 6 of 8: Chrome (mobile)

Step 1. Click the Chrome menu icon (⋮) and select Bookmarks
A list of bookmarks will open. If you don't see the ⋮ icon, scroll down the page.
- If you're signed in to a Google account, all synced bookmarks will be displayed.
- This process can be applied to both Android and iOS systems.

Step 2. Click the menu icon (⋮) next to the bookmark you want to delete
A menu will open.

Step 3. Click "Delete" to delete the bookmark
It will be removed immediately.
- If you accidentally deleted a bookmark, click "Undo" to restore it. This option will be available in a few seconds.
- Deleting a folder will delete all bookmarks that are in it.

Step 4. Press and hold a bookmark to select multiple bookmarks
Pressing and holding a bookmark will activate selection mode. Now just click on other bookmarks to highlight them.

Step 5. Remove the selected bookmarks by clicking on the trash can icon
This will remove all selected bookmarks.
Method 7 of 8: Safari (iOS)

Step 1. Click "Bookmarks"
You will find this option at the bottom of the screen (on iPhone) or at the top of the screen (on iPad).

Step 2. Go to the "Bookmarks" tab
All bookmarks are displayed.

Step 3. Click "Change"
This will remove the bookmarks.
If the bookmark you want to delete is in a folder, first open the folder and then click Edit

Step 4. Click "-" next to the bookmark or folder you want to delete
Click Remove to confirm your decision.
You cannot delete the Favorites and History folders, but you can get rid of items within those folders
Method 8 of 8: Browser your Android device

Step 1. Click "Bookmarks" at the bottom of the screen
The icon looks like a bookmark. The browser bookmark manager will open.

Step 2. Press and hold the bookmark you want to delete
A menu will open.

Step 3. Click "Delete Bookmark"
Confirm that you want to delete the bookmark; after that it will be permanently deleted.
