If you are an Apple user, then buying music on iTunes should be easy for you. However, when you consider the need to set up an Apple ID, add a payment method, and search for music, all of this is very easy to get confused. Whether you're buying music for your iPad, iPhone, or another Apple device, buying music on iTunes is a great way to find new artists and support your favorite artists.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Setting Up Before Watching
Step 1. Create an Apple ID
To do this, go to the Apple website and create an account. The created Apple ID can be used on any Apple device.
To get an Apple ID, you need to provide your full name, date of birth, and email address. You will be asked to select an ID (as when creating an email account) and enter three security questions to protect your account. It would also be wise to add a backup email address in case your account gets hacked or you forget your password
Step 2. Go to the iTunes store
The iTunes icon looks like a purple-pink note on a white background. When iTunes launches, look for Store in the upper right corner of the window. Click on it to enter the store.

Step 3. If you are asked to enter your Apple ID when you try to sign in, please do so
If you just created your Apple ID on the same account, chances are you won't have to re-enter your credentials.
Step 4. Add a payment method
To be able to shop on iTunes, you either need to connect a credit card or use a gift card. Click on your name in the upper right corner of the app and select "Account Information". You can add a credit card here.
If you want to add a gift card, click "Enter Code" and enter the gift card code
Step 5. Return to the iTunes home page
Close your account settings by clicking on "Store" in the upper right corner. Depending on the settings, this button will be purple or blue.
Part 2 of 3: Buying Music on iTunes
Step 1. Find the music you like
The iTunes home page will feature budding and popular musicians. If you're looking for something more specific, enter a song title or artist name in the search field and press ↵ Enter.
- Search by genre using the right side of the window. Click on "All Genres" and select a genre.
- You can filter your search results by the following categories: TV Shows, Albums, Songs, iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, Movies, Books, Audiobooks, Clips, Podcasts, and iTunes U.
- On the right side of the app are advanced search options such as albums below a certain price, pre-orders, music videos, and new artists.
Step 2. Select the albums you want to buy
To purchase an album, click on the price tag under the album cover. If you want to buy one song, be aware that their price ranges from 40 to 75 rubles.
Hover over a song name to hear a sample song. A small play button will appear above the track number. Click on it to listen to a sample
Step 3. Buy music
Click on the price tag of the album or track you want to buy. After choosing a purchase, you will be prompted to choose one of the previously registered payment methods. After that, the music will be automatically loaded into the library and will be available for playing.
- When you click the Buy button, for security reasons, you will most likely be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. This is a common practice when shopping for goods over the Internet.
- If you choose to buy only a few songs from the album, Apple may offer you a discount on the rest. Such offers are valid for six months.
Part 3 of 3: Redeem Gift Cards
Step 1. Determine the type of card
Mac App Store content codes can only be redeemed from the Mac App Store. Promo codes must be redeemed before the expiry date shown on the back of the card. Apple Store Gift Cards can be redeemed online or at a branded store. ITunes Gift Cards that were received by email can be redeemed by clicking Redeem in the body of the email.
Step 2. Redeem the card on your mobile device
If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, nothing prevents you from redeeming your card by entering its code when prompted.
- Open iTunes or the App Store on your mobile device.
- Scroll to the end of the "Selection" section and click on the "Enter code" button. Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Or enter the code manually when prompted. In some countries and regions, you can redeem a card using the built-in camera.
- On the back of your iTunes Gift Card is a 16-digit code that starts with an X. Enter the code and click Enter Code.
- After the gift card is redeemed, funds will be credited to your iTunes account. In order for the account to update on other devices, you will most likely have to log out and log back in. The amount of money in the account can be seen under the Apple ID.
- After you redeem a content code, the corresponding product will automatically download.
Step 3. Redeem your code on Mac, PC or Mac App Store
To quickly redeem a gift card, open iTunes and enter the promo code when prompted. Make sure you have the latest version before launching iTunes.
- Find the menu bar and enter the Mac App Store with your Apple ID.
- Search for iTunes in the Mac App Store. Open the store in iTunes.
- Find the "Enter Code" option in the "Quick Links" section on the right side of the window.
- Enter your gift or content code and click Enter Code. The 16-digit iTunes Gift Card code is printed on the back and begins with an X. In some countries and regions, you can redeem your card using the built-in camera.
- Redeeming a content code will automatically download the item and update your iTunes account.
Step 4. Find and buy content after updating your account
Enter a song title or artist name in the Search box in the upper-right corner of iTunes. Press Enter to display the search results.
- Use filters to narrow your search. Listen to a 90-second sample of the song to make sure you were looking for it.
- Click the Buy button next to an item in the search results to buy the song.
- Enter your Apple ID and password to confirm your purchase.
Advice
- If you have any difficulty, call the Apple Hotline at 8-800-555-67-34.
- To keep track of your expenses, select "Account" from the shortcut menu. Click Purchase History to see your expenses.
