Deleting your search history allows you to keep information confidential and hide it from third parties who have access to your computer and account data. Most browsers and search engines have built-in tools for cleaning and deleting all browsing history, including search history. This article will show you how to delete your search history on the most popular platforms.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Delete Google Search History

Step 1. Go to https://myactivity.google.com in your browser
This is your Google activity page. Your activities include Google searches as well as other Google-related services such as YouTube, Google Assistant, and Google Play Store.
- If you are not automatically signed in to your account, click Sign In in the upper right corner. Select your account, enter your password and click Next to log in. If you don't see your account, click Sign in with another account and sign in with the email address and password associated with your Google account and click Next.
- If you are using Google without logging into your account, you can delete your search history by clearing your browser history. This can be done in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
Step 2. Click on + Filter by Date and Product below the search bar at the top of the page. 3 Specify the date range
Use the dropdown menu at the top to select a date range. Select Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, All Time, or Custom Range.
If you selected Custom Range, use the calendar below the drop-down menu to select the start and end dates for the range. Click on the calendar icon in the After field to select a start date, and then click on the calendar icon in the Before field to select an end date
Step 4. Check the Search box
It's in the list of products under the "Filter by Google Products" line at the bottom of the window. The selected products will be marked with check marks.
Here you can also select additional products, such as "Video Search", "Image Search", "Assistant" and so on
Step 5. Click Apply in the lower right corner of the window
Your search history for the selected time period will be displayed on the screen. Step 6. Click on ⋮.
It's an icon with three vertical dots to the right of the search bar at the top of the page. A dropdown menu will appear. Step 7. Click Delete Results.
This is one of the options in the drop-down menu that appears when you click on the three-dot icon next to the search bar at the top of the page.
- You can also scroll down and click on the three dots icon (⋮) next to an individual search item, and then click "Delete", or click on the trash can icon next to a specific date in the list of search queries.
Step 8. Click Delete in the lower right corner of the pop-up window to remove search items for the selected time period
Here you can also delete your history for Alexa, Skype, Yahoo, Pinterest
Method 2 of 5: Delete Facebook Search History

Step 1. Open Facebook
The Facebook icon resembles a blue square with a white f. Tap the icon on the desktop or in the application menu to open Facebook on your mobile device.
- To open Facebook on your computer, enter https://www.facebook.com into the address bar of the browser.
- If you are not automatically signed in, enter the email address and password associated with your Facebook account and click Sign In.

Step 2. Tap the house icon (mobile only)
It's the first tab on the top left of the Facebook mobile app. Tap this icon to display the News Feed.

Step 3. Click or tap the magnifying glass icon
In the mobile application, it is located in the upper right corner. In the desktop version of Facebook, it's next to the search bar at the top of the page.

Step 4. Click or tap Edit above the list of search results
This button appears only if the search string is empty.

Step 5. Click or tap Clear Search History above the list of search terms
On Facebook mobile, this will remove all searches from the list. In the full version, a dialog box will appear asking you for confirmation.

Step 6. Click Clear Search History (full version only)
Confirm that you want to delete your searches and clear your search history.
Method 3 of 5: Delete Instagram Search History

Step 1. Launch Instagram
It is a colorful icon with a symbol that resembles a camera. Tap this icon on the desktop or in the application menu to open Instagram.
If you are not automatically signed in to Instagram, click Login and enter your username, email or phone number and password associated with your account and click Login

Step 2. Tap the icon with a silhouette of a person in the lower right corner of the application
You will be taken to your account page.

Step 3. Tap ☰
It's an icon with three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the account page.

Step 4. Tap Settings next to the gear icon at the bottom of the page
The Settings menu appears.

Step 5. Once in the Settings menu, tap Security (Android) or Privacy & Security (iPhone) next to a shield-like icon.

Step 6. Scroll down and tap Clear Search History at the bottom of the Security page

Step 7. Tap the blue line Clear search history at the top of the page

Step 8. Tap Clear History (Android) or Yes, I'm sure (iPhone).
Your search history will be cleared.
Method 4 of 5: Delete Twitter Search History

Step 1. Open Twitter
It's a blue bird icon. Tap the icon to launch Twitter on your mobile device.
If you are not automatically signed in to Twitter, click Sign In at the bottom of the page. Enter the email address and password associated with your account and click Sign In

Step 2. Tap the magnifying glass icon
This is the second icon at the bottom of the screen. The search page will appear on the screen.

Step 3. Tap the search bar at the top of the page
This way you will display your latest searches.

Step 4. Tap the "x" symbol at the top of the page, opposite the phrase "Recent requests"

Step 5. Tap Clear All in the pop-up window (Android) or next to "Recent Requests" (iPhone and iPad)
Tap Clear to clear your search history.
Method 5 of 5: Delete Bing Search History

Step 1. Enter https://account.microsoft.com/account/privacy into the address bar of your browser
This is Microsoft's privacy page.
- If you are not automatically signed in, click Sign In in the upper right corner and sign in using the email address and password associated with your Microsoft account.
- If you are using Bing without signing in to your Microsoft account, then you must clear your browser history to delete your search history. This can be done in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox.

Step 2. Click Sign in with a Microsoft account
It's a blue button under the bold text that says “Manage all aspects of your privacy.”

Step 3. Click Email [your email address] next to the envelope icon
A confirmation email will be sent to your email.

Step 4. Check your email
Leave your browser open and open the app with the email you linked to your Microsoft account. Look for the email from the Microsoft account team with the subject "Microsoft Account Security Code". This email contains a 6-digit security code.

Step 5. Enter the security code and click Next
After you copy the security code, go back to your Microsoft account page. Enter the security code in the field and click Next.

Step 6. Click on View or delete search query details
It's a gray bar below the Search History box.
Click View and Clear Browsing History to clear your Microsoft Edge browser history

Step 7. Click Remove Action
It's a blue line above the Search History list, next to the trash can icon.

Step 8. Click Clear
It's a gray button at the bottom of the warning page. Your Search History will be cleared.
