Steps
Step 1. Register a free account on Steam
If you don't already have one, visit
Step 2. Install Steam
There should be a gray or green "Download Steam" button in the upper right corner of the home page. Click on it and follow the installation instructions.
Step 3. Go to the "Store" page
Launch the Steam client and then click on the Store button at the top of the window. This will take you to the store's home page.
Step 4. Choose what you are looking for
If you want to buy games, search for the game you want on this page. If you want to download a free / paid game, read on.
Step 5. Move your cursor over the "Games" tab
After that, a drop-down menu will appear, in which there will be many options with different genres of games. Click on the "Free" option to go to the free games page. If you want to buy a game, choose a genre (action, RPG, strategy, or whatever).
Step 6. Make sure the computer can run the game
After choosing a game, open its page in the store and scroll to the very bottom. There should be a System Requirements section for Mac and Windows. It will indicate the computer requirements so that you can play without any problems. If your computer does not meet even the minimum requirements, we advise you not to buy this game. But the decision is yours.
Step 7. Buy / Download the game
If you think the computer meets the requirements for a normal game, return to the top of the page. Depending on whether the game is free or not, there will be a green "Play" or "Add to Cart" button. Click on it. If the game is free, follow the instructions to install it and wait for the download to finish. If you need to buy the game, follow the directions in the next step.
Step 8. Buy the game
If you buy only one copy of the game and take it for yourself, click "Buy for yourself". Enter your credit card billing information, accept the terms of the license agreement, and then click the Buy button. That's all. After that, the game will be available for installation, but it's up to you whether to do it now or postpone it for later.
Step 9. Play
After purchasing the game, you will automatically be returned to the game library. Don't worry if it doesn't. Just take a look at the top of the client window. There is a Library button next to the Store button. Click on it and find your game. When the game is downloaded, click on the "Play" button.
