On the site (torrent tracker) KickassTorrents you can download music, movies, programs, books and many other files. But for this you need a torrent client - a program that downloads the file you need from other users' computers.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Installing a torrent client
Step 1. Select and install a torrent client
In it, you can open a torrent and download the file you need from the computers of other users. Here are some popular torrent clients:
- Vuze
- uTorrent
- BitTorrent
- Note that torrent clients will try to install companion software that most users don't need. In this case, during client installation, simply uncheck the boxes for such programs.
Step 2. Tune the client to increase its performance
- Click "Settings" - "Folders" and set the folder in which the downloaded files will be stored.
- Limit the bandwidth in the Bandwidth section. For maximum download speed, enter "0". Limit your upload speed if you want to increase your download speed.
- Enable protocol encryption to hide your torrent traffic from your ISP. You can do this in the "BitTorrent" section.
Step 3. In the Connections section, open the port used by the client to establish a connection (read this article for details)
Part 2 of 2: Downloading files from KickassTorrents
Step 1. Launch your web browser and enter kickass.to in the address bar
There are a lot of ads on the site, so turn on an ad blocker in your browser.
Step 2. Find the file you want to download
To do this, use the search bar (at the top of the page). You can get several search results, among which you need to choose the one that suits you.
- Look at the number of seeds and leechers. Seeds - users sharing the file; leechers - users downloading the file. The more seeds, the faster the file downloads (and vice versa).
- Read the comments of users who have already downloaded the file. This will help protect you from downloading corrupted files or files with viruses.
- Look at the file sizes, especially if you are downloading movies - the smaller the size, the poorer the image quality. If you need a high quality image, choose a large file with a large number of seeds. You can find out about the image quality from the comments.
- If you need a file with support for other languages, be sure to check the torrent details. They usually report the presence of audio tracks or subtitles.
Step 3. To download the torrent, click Download (in the list of search results; looks like a small arrow) or click Download Torrent (at the top of the torrent page)

Step 4. If your browser displays the downloaded torrent at the bottom of the screen, click on it
The torrent will open in the torrent client. Otherwise, right-click on the downloaded torrent and select "Open With" from the menu, and then select the desired torrent client. Step 5. Once opened in the client, the torrent will connect to the seeds and start downloading the file.
It will take some time before you get the maximum download speed. When the download is complete, the file will be placed in the specified folder. Step 6. Distribute the downloaded file (it is recommended to distribute the same amount as you downloaded).
To do this, do not delete the downloaded file and do not close the client.
