This article will show you how to change your computer's public IP address by turning off your router. To change the private IP address that is assigned to a computer on the local network, you need to open Command Prompt (in Windows) or Network Preferences (in Mac OS X).
Steps
Method 1 of 3: How to change your public IP address

Step 1. Determine the current IP address of the device
To verify that the IP address has changed, you need to know the current IP address of the device.

Step 2. Turn off the device
Turn off the computer, phone, or tablet whose IP address you want to change.

Step 3. Disconnect your modem and router from the Internet and power supplies
This will reset your wireless settings.
If the modem and router are housed in the same enclosure, simply unplug that device

Step 4. Wait five minutes
This should be enough time for your ISP to assign you a new public IP address.

Step 5. Turn on the modem
Wait for the LEDs on the front panel of the modem to flash or light up.

Step 6. Turn on the router
After a couple of minutes, the router LEDs will start blinking and then light up.

Step 7. Turn on the device
Most likely, it will automatically connect to the Internet, but in some cases, you need to manually select a network and connect to it.

Step 8. Open your web browser
With it, you will find out the new IP address.

Step 9. Enter "my IP address" (without quotes) in your browser
If the new IP address is different from the previous one, the IP address has been changed.
If the new IP address is the same as the previous one, turn off the router for a longer period of time. Try turning it off all night and then turning it back on in the morning
