Method 1 of 2: Via Uber Apps
Step 1. Launch the Uber app
The app icon looks like a black square with a line inside a white circle.
If you're automatically signed in to your account, sign out to change your password
Step 2. Click on ☰ in the upper left corner of the screen
Step 3. Click on Settings
This is the last option on the menu.
Step 4. Scroll down and select Exit
This option is at the very bottom of the menu.
You will be returned to the login page
Step 5. Enter your phone number
Enter the phone number associated with your Uber account.
Step 6. Click →
This button is in the middle right.
Step 7. Under the line "Enter your password" click on Forgot your password ?
Step 8. Enter your email address
Enter the email address to which the account is registered.
Step 9. Click →
This button is in the middle right. Uber will send you an email with a link to reset your password.
Step 10. Click OK to confirm receipt of the letter from Uber
If you have not received the email, click "Send Again"
Step 11. Open your email application
Launch the application with which you receive emails from your Uber account.
Step 12. Open the letter from Uber
The subject line should contain a link to "Password reset". If this letter was not found in your inbox, open the "Spam" or "Trash" folder. Gmail users sometimes find this email in their Alerts folder.
Step 13. Click on Reset password in the center of the message
Clicking on it will take you to a reset page in the Uber app.
Before the app can open, open your browser to access the Uber app
Step 14. Enter a new password
Its length must be at least five characters.
Step 15. Click on →
If the password meets the requirements, you will be logged into your account. You will now be logged into your account using the password you just created.
Method 2 of 2: Via the Uber website
Step 1. Open the Uber website
Step 2. Click on ☰ in the upper left corner of the window
Step 3. Click the Login button in the upper right corner of the menu
Step 4. Click on Login as user on the right side of the page
Step 5. Under the "Login" button, click on the Forgot your password? Link
Step 6. Enter your email address
Enter the email address you used to sign up for Uber.
Step 7. Click Next
This will generate a password reset link that will be sent to the email address associated with your Uber account.
Step 8. Launch your email application
Check the email that was linked to your Uber account.
Step 9. Click on the email with a link to reset your Uber password
If this letter is not in your inbox, open the "Spam" or "Trash" folder. Gmail users sometimes find this email in their Alerts folder.
Step 10. Click on Reset Password
After that, you will be taken to a page with a password reset form.
Step 11. Enter a new password
Enter a password of at least five characters and confirm it.
Step 12. Click Next
This button is located below the password field.
Step 13. Click on Login as user
Step 14. Enter your email address and password
Enter them in the appropriate fields.
Step 15. Check the box next to “I'm not a robot”
Step 16. Click Login
You are logged into your account using a new password.
- The old password cannot be specified as the new password.
- Changing your password on one platform (like a phone) will change it on all other platforms. This can lead to errors on the site. Errors will keep popping up until you log out and log in with a new password.
