Slack admins can easily remove members from a channel they no longer need access to. The easiest way to do this is to enter the command "/ remove [user name]" into the message window. This command works in all versions of the app (desktop, mobile, and browser). PC users can also click on the member's name in the list and select “Remove from # [channel]”.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On the computer

Step 1. Start Slack
To delete someone on Slack, you need to be the owner or admin of the channel. Launch the Slack app on your computer (or click Log In at Slack.com).
- If it is a public channel, the remote user will retain the ability to view the channel history and archived files. He will also be able to return to the channel at any time.
- If the channel is private, the user will not be able to view the files and history of the channel until they are returned to the channel.

Step 2. Sign in to your team
If you are not automatically signed in, enter your team name and your credentials in the provided fields on the screen. You will find yourself on your team's default channel (usually #general).
Note that a group member cannot be removed from a #general (or other standard command channel)

Step 3. Join the channel
Click on a channel name (eg # "channel") in the left column to join it.

Step 4. Click on the Show Channel Details icon
This icon (similar to a window with two panels) is located at the top of the window, to the left of the search bar. Then the “About [# channel]” menu will appear on the right.

Step 5. In the "About # [channel]" menu, click on the "Members" option
You will now see a list of all channel members.

Step 6. Click on the user you want to delete
A small menu will appear on the screen.

Step 7. Click on the “Remove from # [channel]” link
A confirmation window will appear on the screen.

Step 8. Click “Yes, remove them” to save your changes
Slackbot will send this member a message informing them that they have been removed.
Method 2 of 2: On a mobile device

Step 1. Launch the Slack app
If you are the admin or team owner, you can delete the user with a simple text command. Tap "Slack" on the desktop or in the app drawer.
- If it is a public channel, the deleted user can return at any time. He will also be able to view files and channel history.
- If the channel is private, the remote user will not be able to view the files and history of the channel until someone brings them back to the channel.

Step 2. Log into your team
If you are not automatically signed in, enter your team name and your credentials in the provided fields on the screen. You will find yourself on your team's default channel (usually #general).
Note that a group member cannot be removed from a #general (or other standard command channel)

Step 3. Open the command bar
Swipe right to display the command bar.

Step 4. Tap the name of the channel you want to log into
You will be on a channel, and its name (for example, “#channel”) will be displayed at the top of the screen.

Step 5. Find the name of the group member
In the mobile version, a user can be deleted by entering a text command with his name. To find a username, do the following:
- Tap the channel name. Detailed information about the channel will appear on the screen.
- Tap Member List. Usernames are listed here in alphabetical order. Scroll down until you find the user you want to delete and remember their name.

Step 6. Enter in the text box
/ remove [username]
… Replace "[username]" with the username of the channel member you want to remove.

Step 7. Tap the “Send” icon (paper airplane) to remove the user from the channel
- The user can also be removed by entering the command
/ remove [username]
into the text box and pressing ↵ Enter.
