This article will show you how to rotate a photo on Snapchat before sending it. Although Snapchat does not have a Rotate tool, you can reposition a photo using a standard image editing application.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: iPhone / iPad

Step 1. Launch Snapchat
Click on the yellow icon with a white ghost on your desktop.

Step 2. Tap the shutter icon (the large circle at the bottom of the camera screen) to take a photo

Step 3. Add effects, text and stickers
If you don't want to use the built-in editing options, you can skip this step.

Step 4. Tap the "Save" button
Tap the downward-pointing arrow icon at the bottom of the screen to save the photo to Snapchat Memories.
If this is your first time saving photos to Memories, choose exactly where they will be stored. Select Memories Only to save the photo to the Snapchat server, or Memories & Film to save a copy of the photo to your device

Step 5. Tap the X in the upper left corner of the screen

Step 6. Swipe up on the camera screen to access your saved snapshots

Step 7. Tap the Camera Roll under the word “Memories” at the top of the screen to find your photo
- If you don't see your photo in your Camera Roll, then you haven't saved it yet. Here's how to do it:
- tap "Snaps" at the top of the screen;
- touch and hold the photo until the menu appears;
- tap "Export Snap";
- tap Save Image.

Step 8. Click on the round Home button at the bottom of the screen to return to your desktop

Step 9. Open Photos
It is a white icon with a multicolored flower (iPhone / iPad) on the desktop.

Step 10. Tap Albums

Step 11. Tap the photo you want to rotate

Step 12. Tap the "Change" button at the bottom of the screen (three horizontal lines with rings)

Step 13. Tap the Crop and Rotate icon at the bottom of the screen, next to the word Cancel

Step 14. Tap the Rotate icon to rotate the image counterclockwise
It is an icon with a square and an arrow in the lower left corner of the image. Click Finish to save your changes.

Step 15. Go back to Snapchat
For convenience, double-click the Home button and then select the Snapchat window.

Step 16. Swipe up on the camera screen to get to the Memories page

Step 17. Tap Camera Roll
The now rotated photo will appear at the top of the list.

Step 18. Tap and hold the photo
Release your finger when the gray menu appears.

Step 19. Tap the "Send" option (blue paper airplane under the photo)
Send a photo to a friend or post it in your Story.
Method 2 of 2: Android

Step 1. Launch Snapchat
Click on the yellow icon with a white ghost on your desktop.

Step 2. Tap the shutter icon (the large circle at the bottom of the camera screen) to take a photo

Step 3. Add effects, text and stickers
If you don't want to use the built-in editing options, you can skip this step.

Step 4. Tap the "Save" button
Tap the downward-pointing arrow icon at the bottom of the screen to save the photo to Snapchat Memories.
If this is your first time saving photos to Memories, choose exactly where they will be stored. Select Memories Only to save the photo to the Snapchat server, or Memories & Film to save a copy of the photo to your device

Step 5. Tap the X in the upper left corner of the screen

Step 6. Swipe up on the camera screen to access your saved snapshots

- If you don't see your photo in your Camera Roll, then you haven't saved it yet. Here's how to do it:
- tap "Snaps" at the top of the screen;
- touch and hold the photo until the menu appears;
- tap Save to Camera Roll.

Step 8. Click on the round Home button at the bottom of the screen to return to your desktop

Step 9. Open Photos
Click on the multicolored turntable icon (Android) on your desktop. If it is not on your desktop, tap the Applications icon (a circle with 6 dots) and launch it from there.
If you are using another photo editing application, rotate the image in it

Step 10. Tap the photo to open it
It should be at the top of the list of photos.
- If you don't see the photo, tap ☰ in the upper left corner of the screen and select Device Folders. The photo must be in the "Camera" folder.

Step 11. Tap the "Change" button at the bottom of the screen (pencil icon)

Step 12. Tap the Crop and Rotate icon
This is the third icon at the bottom of the screen, which shows several arrows pointing in different directions.

Step 13. Rotate the photo
Tap the button at the bottom right of the photo to rotate it counterclockwise. Click Finish to save your changes.

Step 14. Go back to Snapchat
Open the list of running apps (the square button at the bottom of the screen) and select Snapchat.

Step 15. Swipe up on the camera screen to get to the Memories page

Step 16. Tap Camera Roll
The now rotated photo will appear at the top of the list.

Step 17. Tap and hold the photo
Release your finger when the gray menu appears.

Step 18. Tap the "Send" option (blue paper airplane at the bottom of the photo)
Send a photo to a friend or post it in your Story.
