This article will show you how to use the WeChat browser application. Keep your mobile phone close at hand as you will need to sign in to your account.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Using a web browser
Step 1. Launch WeChat on your mobile device so that you can log in on your computer without downloading a separate app
If you are not already signed in to your account on your phone or tablet, please do so.
Step 2. Click + in the upper left corner of the app
Step 3. Click Scan QR Code to launch the code scanner
Step 4. Go to this address
web.wechat.com. Use any browser like Safari or Chrome. After that, a large QR code will appear on the screen.
Step 5. Scan the QR code on the screen with your mobile device
As soon as the mobile application scanner captures the code, your profile photo will appear on the computer screen.
Step 6. Click Sign in on your mobile device
The web browser will open the WeChat home page.
- As long as you are logged into your account on a computer, mobile notifications will be disabled.
- To sign out of your computer account, click on ☰ at the top of the left column and then select the “Sign out” option.
Method 2 of 3: Working with WeChat on Windows
Step 1. Enter http://www.wechat.com/ru into the address bar of your browser
This method will guide you to download WeChat app to Windows computer. Keep your Android phone, iPhone or iPad close at hand. Step 2. Click on the Windows logo icon.
It's the second white icon in the center of the screen.
Do not click on the first Windows icon (without the computer screen) as this will take you to the download page for Windows mobile devices
Step 3. Click on Download
It's a green button on the left side of the screen.
Step 4. Select a folder and click Save to download the WeChat installation file
Step 5. Run the application installation file
When the download is complete, a link to the installation file will appear at the bottom of the browser window. If so, click on it. Otherwise, open the folder with the saved file (usually the Downloads folder), and then double-click the installation file to launch it.
Step 6. Click Yes to allow WeChat to be installed
Step 7. Click on Install WeChat
WeChat will be installed on your computer. When the installation is complete, you will see an installation confirmation message and a green "Run" button.
Step 8. Click on the Run button
The QR code and the message “Log in using Scan QR Code” will appear on the screen.
Step 9. Launch WeChat on your mobile device
To do this, you can use any phone or tablet with the WeChat application installed. Please make sure you are logged into your WeChat account on this device before proceeding.
Step 10. Click + in the upper right corner of the application
Step 11. Click Scan QR Code
This will launch the code scanner.
Step 12. Scan the QR code on the screen with your mobile device
As soon as the mobile application scanner captures the code, your profile photo will appear on the computer screen.
Step 13. Press Enter on your mobile device
A welcome message will appear on the computer screen and on the WeChat home page.
- As long as you are logged into your account on a computer, mobile notifications will be disabled.
- To log into WeChat in the future, just click on WeChat in the Windows menu.
- To sign out of your computer account, click on ☰ at the top of the left column and then select the “Sign out” option.
Method 3 of 3: Working with WeChat on macOS
Step 1. Enter http://www.wechat.com/ru into the address bar of your browser
This method will help you download WeChat app on Mac. Keep your Android phone, iPhone or iPad close at hand.
Step 2. Click on the macOS logo icon
This is the third white icon in the center of the screen. It looks like a desktop computer with the word "macOS" inside.
Step 3. Click on Download on the Mac App Store
You will then be taken to the WeChat home page in the App Store.
Step 4. Download the application for Mac
Click "Download" and then "Install" to start downloading the application. When the installation is complete, WeChat will be installed in the Applications folder.
Before downloading WeChat, you may need to sign in with your Apple ID
Step 5. Launch WeChat
You will find it in the Applications folder. To open this folder, launch Finder (the smiling face in the Dock), click the Go menu, and choose Applications.
Step 6. Launch WeChat on your mobile device
To do this, you can use any phone or tablet with the WeChat application installed. Please make sure you are logged into your WeChat account on this device before proceeding.
