This article will show you how to save your Snapchat video so that it stays on your device when it is deleted from Snapchat. Remember that other people's videos cannot be saved.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: How to Save a Video
Step 1. Launch Snapchat
Click on the icon in the form of a white ghost on a yellow background. It is located on one of the desktops or in the app drawer. A screen with the camera turned on appears.
Step 2. Press and hold the shutter button to take a video
It looks like a large circle and is located at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Tap the downward arrow icon
You will find it in the lower left corner. The video will be saved.
To find a saved video, swipe up to go to the Memories section, or open the Camera Roll album
Method 2 of 3: How to save a video from your story
Step 1. Launch Snapchat
Click on the icon in the form of a white ghost on a yellow background. A screen appears with the camera turned on.
Step 2. Swipe left on the screen
You will be taken to the "History" page.
Alternatively, you can click the Stories button in the lower right corner
Step 3. Click My Story
History playback starts.
Step 4. Swipe up on the video you want to save
A menu will open.
To navigate through the story: tap on the right side of the screen to go to the next snap, or on the left side of the screen to go to the previous snap
Step 5. Tap the down arrow icon
It's in the upper right corner. The video will be saved.
To find a saved video, swipe up to go to the Memories section, or open the Camera Roll album
Method 3 of 3: Set the Primary Save Location for Photos and Videos
Step 1. Launch Snapchat
Click on the icon in the form of a white ghost on a yellow background. You can find it on one of the desktops or in the app drawer. A screen appears with the camera turned on.
If you are not logged in yet, please do so now
Step 2. Swipe down on the screen
You will be taken to your profile page.
Step 3. Tap ⚙
You will find this icon in the upper right corner. Settings will open.
Step 4. Click Memories
You will find this option in the "My Account" section.
Step 5. Tap Save to
It's under the "Save" section.
Step 6. Choose where to save photos and videos
From now on, Snapchat will save photos and videos to the specified location.
- Memories is a Snapchat photo gallery. To open Memories, swipe up on the screen while the camera is on.
- Memories and Film - the photo / video will be saved both in Memories and in the "Camera Roll" album.
- Only in Camera Roll - The photo / video will only be saved in the “Camera Roll” album.
