This article will show you how to check if your webcam is working on a Windows or Mac OS X computer.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Windows
Step 1. Open the Start Menu
Click on the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 2. Enter camera in the search bar of the Start menu
You will find it in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Click Camera
The Camera program will launch and the webcam will automatically turn on. If the screen displays a picture from the webcam, it is working properly.
If this is your first time using Camera, you may need to enable it
Method 2 of 2: Mac OS X
Step 1. Open the Go menu
You will find it at the top of the screen.
Step 2. Click on Programs
A list of installed programs will open.
Step 3. Double click on Photobooth
This will automatically turn on the webcam. If the screen displays a picture from the webcam, it is working properly.
