Step 3. Determine your graphics card model

The screen rotation process depends on the video card model, and it is possible that the video card drivers do not allow you to rotate the screen in Windows. Having found out the model of the video card, it will be easier for you to deal with the rotation of the screen.

  • Press ⊞ Win + R and enter dxdiag. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool will open.
  • Click on the "Display" tab. If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, proceed to the next step. If you have an AMD / ATI graphics card, go to step 5.

Step 6. Updating drivers

The most common reason for inability to rotate the screen is outdated drivers. Update your drivers to be able to rotate the screen and also speed up your computer.

  • Open the NVIDIA or AMD website (depending on your graphics card). If you do not know the manufacturer of your video card, use the DirectX diagnostic utility (see step 3).
  • Run the utility to automatically detect the video card model. Or use the DirectX diagnostic utility.
  • Download and install the latest drivers. The installer will automatically remove the old drivers and install the latest version.
  • Now try rotating the display again. To do this, use one of the methods described above.
