This article will show you how to save images in a message, document, or website on your MacBook. In most cases, you can just hold down Control, click on the image and choose "Save" from the menu.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the context menu

Step 1. Navigate to the image you want to save
To do this, open the message, document, or web page that contains the desired image.
Images on some web pages cannot be saved. For example, you cannot download photos from Instagram

Step 2. Open the image (if necessary)
If the image is in preview format (for example, as in the "Images" tab of the Yandex or Google site), click on the image to open it.
Some images (for example, in articles) are links to other pages. If you clicked on an image and went to a different page, click the Back button in your browser to return to the original image

Step 3. Place the mouse pointer over the image
It should be located directly on the picture that you want to save.

Step 4. Open the context menu
Control-click the image, then release the Control key. A pop-up menu will open above or near the picture.
- Do not release Control when you click on the image, otherwise the context menu will not open.
- On some MacBooks, you can click and hold an image to open a menu.
- Instead of right-clicking, you can press with two fingers on the trackpad button or click on the right side of that button (on some MacBooks).

Step 5. Click Save Image to Downloads
You will find this option in the context menu. The image will be downloaded to a download folder, usually called Downloads.
- If you are using a browser other than Safari, click Save Image As. In this case, you can enter the file name and specify the download folder.
- To go to the Downloads folder, open Finder (the blue face icon in the dock), then click Downloads on the left side of the window.
- If you are using a download folder other than the Downloads folder, look for the downloaded image in that folder.
