Today is a beautiful day and you decide to change your office for a bench in the yard? Sounds tempting until you actually sit down and realize that the sun that forced you to go outside is making it difficult to work with the monitor. If you prefer to sit outside and type while the breeze is blowing, this article will show you how to do it as comfortably as possible.
Steps

Step 1. Buy a laptop with a matte monitor
If you have a choice, or if you're shopping for a laptop and are thinking of using it outdoors, look for a model with a matte screen surface. An image on a glossy surface may be better perceived at home, but it will reflect the sun's rays outdoors.

Step 2. Work in the shade
Either find a spot under a tree or set up a large beach umbrella. This will not only help to better visually perceive information from the screen, but also help prevent overheating of the laptop (especially if its case is black). If you prefer to stay in the sun, then only keep your laptop in the shade, and wear a brimmed hat to avoid getting the sun in your eyes.

Step 3. Increase the brightness level of the screen in the settings
And since a high brightness level means a high power consumption (a laptop monitor consumes most of the charge), then you will probably be more dependent on the availability of an outlet than on the battery. Use a power strip.

Step 4. Consider purchasing or designing special laptop protectors
It should be white on the outside (to reduce heat build-up) and black on the inside (to reduce glare).

Step 5. Put on a dark colored shirt, it will not reflect sunlight onto the surface of the monitor
Advice
- Find the brand name Pixel Qi; they have LCD monitors that can be used outdoors. Instead of trying to increase the brightness of the backlight, they use a reflective layer behind the LCD. The only catch may be that in very bright light, they only display a black and white image.
- On Mac models (both glossy and matte), the colors can be inverted to make it easier to see. Perhaps this method is not convenient for work where color rendition is important, but it is good for reading text. To enable inversion, you can use Quick Adjust by pressing Control-Option-Command-8.
Warnings
- Avoid overheating. The sun can heat up a model with a black or dark case, which will not only be unpleasant to touch, but can also harm the internal components of the laptop.
- Do not leave the power extension cord in a pathway or in a position that will obstruct the passage of people or animals.
