Steps
Method 1 of 2: Use the Finder

Step 1. Click on the "Finder" icon in the Dock
It is a square icon with a smiling face, half of which is dark blue and the other half light blue.
Or just click on the desktop

Step 2. Click the Go button on the menu bar
It is located at the top of the screen.

Step 3. Select Utilities
You can also use the keyboard shortcut ⇧ Shift + ⌘ + U for this

Step 4. Scroll down in the Utilities window and double-click on Terminal
A terminal window will open.
Method 2 of 2: Use Spotlight

Step 1. Click on the Spotlight icon
This is a picture of a magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the screen.
Or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘ + spacebar

Step 2. Start typing terminal in the search box
Continue typing until the Terminal program icon appears.

Step 3. Double click on Terminal
A terminal window will open.
