This article will show you how to display the Library folder in a Finder window. By default, this folder is hidden, but you can show it temporarily or permanently.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: How to display the Libraries folder temporarily

Step 1. Open a Finder window

Click on the blue and white emoji icon in the left corner of the dock.

Step 2. Open the Go menu
It's at the top of the screen.

Step 3. Press and hold the ⌥ Option key
It's in the lower left corner of the keyboard. The Libraries option appears in the Go menu.

Step 4. Click Libraries
It's in the middle of the menu, below the Private option. The Libraries folder will open in a Finder window.
When you close the Finder window with the Libraries folder open, release the ⌥ Option key
Method 2 of 2: How to permanently display the Libraries folder

Step 1. Update your computer software
Menu options vary by operating system version, but the following instructions can be applied to macOS Sierra and High Sierra.

Step 2. Open a Finder window

Click on the blue and white emoji icon in the left corner of the dock.

Step 3. Open the Go menu
It's at the top of the screen.

Step 4. Tap Personal
It's in the middle of the Go menu. The Private folder opens in a Finder window.

Step 5. Click on a blank space inside the Finder window
This will ensure that the Private folder is open in the Finder window.

Step 6. Right-click on the window
For a trackpad or one-click mouse, click the Finder window with two fingers. A menu will open.
Or hold down the Control key and left-click on the Finder window

Step 7. Click Show View Options
It's at the bottom of the menu. A window with additional parameters will open.

Step 8. Check the box next to Show Libraries folder
It is in the middle of the window.

Step 9. Click Set as default
It's near the bottom of the window. The Libraries option will now always appear in the Go menu and in the Personal folder.

- To open the Libraries folder, open Spotlight

Macspotlight and enter the following path to this folder:
/ Users / username / Library
. - In most cases, you will need a custom Libraries folder (described in this article), but there are two more Libraries folders on your computer. One is located in the root directory of your hard drive, and the other is in the System folder. They store system files and can only be opened by a computer administrator. Don't make changes to these folders unless you know what you are doing.
- If you update the system, the Libraries folder will be hidden again. Display it as described in this article.
Warnings
- Do not move, rename, or delete files in the Libraries folder unless you know what they are for.
- There are no custom files in the Libraries folder. If you are looking for photos, music, or similar files, browse the other folders.
