This article will show you how to force quit a program that has stopped responding. To do this, we will use the Task Manager.
Steps

Step 1. Open the Task Manager
Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar and select the Task Manager option from the menu that appears.
Or press Control + ⇧ Shift + Esc at the same time

Step 2. Click on the Processes tab in the upper left corner of the Task Manager window

Step 3. Select from the list the program that stopped responding
Click on the name of the problematic program. On Windows 10 and 8, this program will be listed under the heading Applications.

Step 4. Click on End task in the lower right corner of the Task Manager window
After a couple of seconds, the program should close.
