This article will show you how to install Windows Movie Maker on your Windows 10 computer. Although Microsoft ended official support for Windows Movie Maker and other Windows Essentials (core components) in 2012, you you can still download and install Windows Movie Maker.
Steps

Step 1. Download the Windows Core Components setup file
Go to this website to start downloading the setup file.
This page is almost blank; it may take a few seconds to a minute for the file to load

Step 2. Open the setup file
Double click on the file named wlsetup-all and open it; the file is located in the Downloads folder.

Step 3. Click Yes when prompted
The window for installing basic Windows components will open.

Step 4. Click Install All Windows Essential Components (Recommended)
This button is at the top of the page. Most of the programs included in the core components of Windows are not compatible with Windows 10, but you can install Windows Movie Maker by clicking on this option.

Step 5. Click Details
This button is in the lower-left corner of the screen. You should see a progress bar in percentage terms and information about which program is being installed.

Step 6. Wait for Windows Movie Maker to install
Most likely, Windows Movie Maker will install first. Wait until it installs; when you see that the name of the installed program has changed (for example, to "Mail"), you can proceed to the next step in the instructions.

Step 7. Open the Start menu

This can be done by clicking on the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.

Step 8. Enter windows movie maker in the search box
This will show you where the new Windows Movie Maker is installed.

Step 9. Click Movie Maker

Step 11. Close the window for installing basic Windows components
When an error message appears in the installation window, just click on Close and confirm your choice. You can now use Windows Movie Maker.
A warning
- When Windows 10 is updated, you may find that Windows Movie Maker freezes or stops responding. Back up your files regularly.
- Windows Movie Maker is no longer supported by Microsoft, so the existing security problems and bugs will never be fixed. You can try Story Remix instead of this program.
