How to find Wi Fi password on Windows: 10 steps

This article will show you how to find the saved Wi-Fi password for an active wireless connection (on Windows).

Steps

Step 1. Click on the "Start" menu

It's the button with the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.

Step 2. Click on Options

Step 3. Click on Network & Internet

Step 4. Click on Status

This is the top option in the left pane and should be selected by default.

If your computer is not already connected to a wireless network, do so to continue

Step 5. Click on Configure adapter settings

The "Network Connections" window will appear on the screen.

• Otherwise, press ⊞ Win + S to display the search. Enter view network connections, then click on View network connections.

  

  Step 6. Right click on the connected Wi-Fi network

  

  Step 7. Select Status

  

  Step 8. Click on Wireless Properties

  

  Step 9. Go to the Security tab

  The password will be displayed in the "Network Security Key" field, but hidden.

  

  Step 10. Check the box next to "Display characters to be entered"

  The password will be displayed in the Network Security Key field.
