Windows 8 is the newest member of the Windows operating system family. It has been in use for some time now, released for desktops, laptops and tablets. To further improve its performance, Microsoft has released its latest update: version 8.1. If you've already had the 8.1 update but want to reformat your computer, reinstalling is easy.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Reinstall Windows 8 First (first time)

Step 1. Get a Windows 8 installation CD
The CD is either supplied with the PC or purchased separately. Insert it into the computer's CD / DVD drive.

Step 2. Restart your computer

Step 3. Access BIOS
Press Delete, F1, or the F2 key on your keyboard, depending on the type of BIOS used on your computer.

Step 4. Boot from CD / DVD disc
Within the BIOS, set the boot options so that your computer boots from the CD / DVD drive first.

Step 5. Save your BIOS changes
Wait for your computer to restart.

Step 6. Press any key on your keyboard to continue
A prompt window will notify you: “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD.”

Step 7. Install Windows 8 following the installation instructions
Part 2 of 2: Reinstall Windows 8.1 Update (update)

Step 1. Connect your computer to the Internet
Your computer must have an active network connection.

Step 2. Go to the "Settings." Move your mouse cursor to the lower-right side of the screen (or scroll to the left if you are using a touchscreen) and select “Settings.”

Step 3. Select "Change PC Settings."

Step 4. Select “Update and Recovery.”

Step 5. Select "Windows Update."

Step 6. Find and select “KB 2919355” from the list of updates to download. 7 Download and install the update
Restart your computer when prompted.
Advice
- You must be a computer administrator to be able to install Windows 8.1 Update.
- If KB 2919355 does not appear in the list of updates, search for KB 2919442 and install this first. After installation, look for KB 2919355 again under the list of updates.
- If you still cannot find KB 2919355, install any important update files that come first in the list.
