In this article, we will guide you on how to transfer or download music to your Samsung smartphone or tablet.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Using Google Play Music

Step 1. Launch Google Chrome on a Windows or Mac OS X computer
In this browser, you will install a specific extension.
Sign in to Chrome with the Google Account you use on your Samsung device

Step 2. Go to
This is the Google Play Music extension page.

Step 3. Click Install
You will find this option in the upper right corner. A pop-up window will appear.

Step 4. Click Install Extension
The Google Play Music extension will be installed in Chrome.

Step 5. Go to
Your music library will open.

Step 6. Click on ☰
You will find this icon in the upper left corner.

Step 7. Click Upload Music

Step 8. Click Select on Computer
An Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window opens.

Step 9. Select the required audio files
To do this, open the folder with the music files, hold Control and click on each desired file.
Songs can also be dragged directly into the browser window (even from your iTunes library)

Step 10. Click Open
The selected songs will be uploaded to your Google Play account. You can follow the progress of the process on the bottom pane of the window.

Step 11. Launch Play Music on your Samsung device
The icon for this app is on the home screen or in the app drawer. Look for downloaded audio files in your music library.
Method 2 of 5: Using a USB cable

Step 1. Connect your Samsung device to your computer
To do this, use the USB cable that came with the device. If prompted to select a connection type, click Media Device (MTP).
- This connection type is used to copy audio files (such as MP3 files) to an Android device.
- If you're on a Mac, install the Android File Transfer app. Go to https://www.android.com/filetransfer/ and follow the onscreen instructions to install this app. When it's installed, launch it.

Step 2. On your computer, open the folder with the desired audio files
- In Windows, press ⊞ Win + E to open the Explorer window, and then in the left pane, double-click the music folder (for example, the Music folder).
- In Mac OS X, open Finder, double-click the custom folder, and then double-click the audio folder.

Step 3. In the second window, open the “Music” folder on the device
- In Windows, press ⊞ Win + E to open a second File Explorer window, click the connected Samsung device in the left pane, and then double-click the Music folder.
- On Mac OS X, launch the Android File Transfer application, and then double-click the “Music” folder on the Samsung device.

Step 4. Drag and drop audio files from a folder on your computer to the “Music” folder on your device
This music can be played in the Play Music app, which is located in the app drawer.
Method 3 of 5: Using 4shared

Step 1. Install the 4shared app from the Play Store
The Play Store icon is located on the app drawer or home screen. The icon of any installed application can be found in the application bar.

Step 2. Start 4shared
Click on the icon in the form of a blue and white number "4"; you will find it in the application bar.

Step 3. Log in
This can be done using a Facebook or Google account; you can also create a new account by entering your email address.

Step 4. Tap the magnifying glass icon
You will find it in the lower right corner.

Step 5. Click Music
This is the fifth icon if you count from the top of the screen.

Step 6. Find the song
If you don't know the title of a song, look for an artist or album. Click on the magnifying glass icon to start the search.

Step 7. Tap ⁝ next to the song
If you can't find the song you're looking for, chances are it hasn't been shared yet.

Step 8. Click Download
The song will be downloaded to your Samsung device.
Method 4 of 5: Using Audiomack

Step 1. Install Audiomack from Play Store
Audiomack is a free application with a huge number of songs to download. When the Audiomack app is installed, its icon is displayed in the app drawer.

Step 2. Start Audiomack
Click on the icon in the form of a white triangle on a purple background.

Step 3. Tap OK, GOT IT
(Clear).
A pop-up window will open asking you to allow access to the device.

Step 4. Click Allow
You may need to click this button multiple times to grant all required permissions.

Step 5. Find a song
Enter the song title or artist name in the search bar at the top of the screen. You can also search for the desired song in the appropriate sections, such as Songs or Albums.

Step 6. Click on the desired song
It starts playing in the Audiomack.

Step 7. Click on the "Download" icon
It looks like a downward pointing arrow and is located in the lower right corner. The song will be downloaded to your device; now you can listen to it even without an internet connection.
Method 5 of 5: Using Windows Media Player

Step 1. Connect your Samsung device to your computer
To do this, use the USB cable that came with the device.
- Use this method when playing audio files in Windows Media Player.
- If the AutoPlay window appears, close it.

Step 2. Start Windows Media Player

… Your music library will be displayed in the Player window.

Step 3. Go to the Synchronization tab
You will find it in the upper right corner.

Step 4. Drag the songs you want to the "Sync" tab
Drag and drop one track at a time if you like. To drag and drop multiple songs at once, hold Control, click on each desired audio file, and drag the highlighted files to the Sync tab.

Step 5. Click Start Synchronization
You will find this option at the top of the Sync tab. The selected songs will be synced to your Samsung device.
