To close a frozen application on iPad, you need to open the list of applications that you have recently used. As soon as you remove this application from the list, it will close. If the app has locked your iPad, restart your device. Uninstall apps that keep crashing or don't use to free up your device's internal storage.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: How to close the application

Step 1. Press the Home button twice
A list of applications that you have recently used will open.

Step 2. Find the application you want to close
Swipe left and right to find an app in the list.

Step 3. Swipe up on the application you want to close
You can also swipe up on two apps - swipe up with two fingers.

Step 4. Press the Home button when done
You will be returned to the home screen.
Method 2 of 3: How to restart a frozen iPad

Step 1. Press and hold the Sleep / Wake and Home buttons
The Sleep / Wake button is at the top of the iPad and is used to turn the screen on / off. The Home button is located in the center below the screen.

Step 2. Hold both buttons until you see the Apple logo
The screen will turn off before the logo appears. Keep holding both buttons until you see the logo.

Step 3. Wait for the iPad to restart
When you see the Apple logo, release the buttons and wait for the iPad to finish restarting. This may take a minute or two.
Method 3 of 3: How to uninstall an app

Step 1. Press and hold any application icon on the home screen
App icons will start shaking.

Step 2. Find the app you want to uninstall
To do this, scroll through the main screens.

Step 3. Click the "X" in the corner of the application you want to uninstall

Step 4. Click Remove when prompted
The app will be removed. It can be reinstalled from the App Store.
