Like your iPhone or iPod Touch, your iPad's battery life will be shorter with active use. However, there are some things you can do to extend the battery life of your device by a few hours of use, and this article will show you what you can do to achieve this.
Step 1. Disable Wi-Fi and Cellular Network Information Search (iPad + 3G)
Your iPad will drain battery power when it searches for and tries to connect to a nearby Wi-Fi hotspot or cell tower, and if you don't plan to use Safari or other apps that use those features, turn them off.
Navigate to Settings, WiFi, or Cellular and disable these features
Step 2. Disable or decrease the periodicity time for data sampling
Data that is regularly updated includes email alerts and RSS alerts.
- Go to the "Settings" menu. In the "Mail, Addresses, Calendars" menu, go to the "Fetch New Data" submenu and set the value to "Manually".
- Or set the Hourly value to increase the data download interval.
Step 3. Disable data receipt notifications
The appropriateness of this step depends on the number of emails or IM + you usually receive; if the number of emails is large, then this step should be used to avoid draining the battery.
Go to Settings, Mail, Addresses, Calendars, Fetch New Data. Disable this feature
Step 4. Decrease the brightness
Needless to say, the brighter the screen, the more battery your iPad uses. Decrease the screen brightness to a comfortable setting.
- Go to Settings, Brightness & Wallpaper.
- Select Auto Brightness, which will let your iPad adjust the brightness based on the light in your location. or

Step 5. Disable location services
Heavy use of maps and other location services will drain your iPad's battery. In the on position, the cards are constantly updated, which leads to a depletion of the battery.

Go to Settings, General and turn on Auto-Lock. Set a short time interval, for example 1 minute

- Calibrate the battery monthly. Charge the battery as much as possible, then discharge it 100%.
- Repeatedly discharging the battery completely ("deep discharge") can shorten the battery's lifespan. Thus, if you use your iPad before the battery is completely depleted, you will get more benefit from partially charging the battery, but you still need to reduce the number of recharges on your iPad's battery. (Most lithium batteries can be recharged about 500 times. If you are an active iPad user, the battery should be replaced in less than 2 years.)
- Do not charge your device for too long. This can cause overheating.
