Updating apps on your Kindle Fire allows you to instantly benefit from the improvements and changes made by the developers. Apps on the Kindle Fire can be updated manually from the Apps menu or by turning on automatic updates.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Updating Apps Manually

Step 1. Click the Apps tab at the top of the screen
In the inactive state, the tab will be transparent.

Step 2. Tap the “Store” option in the upper right corner of the screen

Step 3. Tap the menu icon at the bottom of the Store screen
The menu icon looks like a rectangle with three horizontal bars.

Step 4. Select the "My Apps" section to go to the list of your applications
On some Kindle Fire models, this section may be called “App Updates”

Step 5. Go to the "Available Updates" tab right below the "My Apps" section

Step 6. View the status of your app updates
There will be an Update button next to each application waiting to be updated.

Step 7. Tap the "Update" button next to each such application and they will be updated
Repeat this process for each update-ready app to update all of them.
Method 2 of 2: Activating Automatic Updates

Step 1. Tap the Settings icon to go to the Kindle settings
The settings icon looks like a gray gear and is located on the desktop. If you turn on automatic updates for each app, you don't have to update them manually, and the app version is always up to date.

Step 2. Tap Apps and Games
Scroll down the settings menu to find this section.

Step 3. Tap “Amazon Application Settings” to go to the app store settings

Step 4. Tap the “App store” menu to open the App store settings

Step 5. Tap “Automatic Updates” to open the automatic update settings

Step 6. Check the box next to “Enable Automatic Updates”
If this setting is already enabled, then the applications should update automatically. If not, then you turn on automatic updates!
Advice
- If you have not turned off automatic updates, then applications should update automatically.
- While apps are updated regularly on other platforms (such as iOS and Android), this doesn't happen as often on the Kindle Fire. This can be extremely discouraging because applications may not sync across platforms.
