Do you have a lot of photos on your iPad? Deleting unwanted pictures or deleting entire albums from your iPad is a great way to save space and keep your device organized. However, the process can be a little confusing, especially if the photos are synced to your computer. Start reading from the first step to learn how to delete photos from iPad.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Delete Photos Directly on iPad

Step 1. Open your photo app
There are two different types of photos on your iPad: those that are directly in it when using the camera or screenshot function, and those that you downloaded to your iPad from your computer using iTunes. To remove the latter, see the next section.

Step 2. Find the photos you want to delete
In the Photos app, you will see a list of your albums. Open the album with the photos you want to delete. You can delete photos from one album at a time.
- You can choose photos from Collections or Moments.
- If you delete photos from My Photo Stream album, then delete all photos on your device.

Step 3. Delete a single photo
Click on the image you want to remove. When the image is maximized to full screen, click the Delete (Place in Trash) button in the upper right corner of the screen. Now click the "Delete" button from the menu that appears.
You delete a photo permanently and it will be extremely difficult to recover an already deleted photo

Step 4. Delete some photos
Tap the Album icon on your iPad's home screen to launch the Photos app, then tap the Select button in the upper right corner. You will be able to delete all your selected photos.
Once you have selected the photos to be deleted, click on the red “Delete” button in the upper left corner of the screen. Now click the "Delete Selected Images" button from the menu that appears

Step 5. Delete the album
You can delete any album you have created. However, you will not be able to delete the photos synced with your computer from there (see the next section).
Tap the Album icon on the home screen of your iPad to launch the Photos app. Click the Edit button in the upper right corner of the Albums screen. Click on the “X” that appears in the upper left corner of the album you want to delete
Method 2 of 2: Delete Photos Synced to Your Computer

Step 1. Connect your iPad to your computer
Photos synced to your computer need to be de-synced and only then deleted. If you try to remove them without doing this, then you will fail.

Step 2. Open iTunes
Select your iPad from the device menu.

Step 3. Tap on the photo app
You will see a list of your albums. You can sync or desync only entire albums.

Step 4. Uncheck the checkbox of the album you want to delete
Browse through the list of albums and uncheck the boxes you want to desync with your iPad.
If you want to delete a single photo, you need to delete it from the album on your computer

Step 5. Synchronize iPad
Once you've finished customizing the selected photos, click the Sync button. iTunes will sync your photo albums by deleting all of your selections from iPad's storage.
Advice
- Deleting an album will not delete the photos inside it. They will remain in your iPad's Image Library until you delete them.
- You do not need to open an album to view its contents. You can see a sketch of what's inside by placing two fingers on the sketchbook picture and spreading them apart.
- If you delete photos from your library that are also used in the album, then you will be prompted to “Delete everywhere” instead of a simple “Delete”.
