When you buy a new iPad, you will need to do an initial setup in order to start using the device. The Installation Assistant will help you with this issue, and also, you can connect to Wi-Fi, create an Apple ID and install iCloud storage.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Getting Started and Getting Started

Step 1. Turn on your device
The power button is on top of the device.

Step 2. Slide the “configure” slider to the right after the iPad turns on
You will see the Setup Assistant.

Step 3. Select your preferred language
iPad will allow you to choose one of 20 languages, including English and Russian.

Step 4. Select your country and region

Step 5. Choose if you want to enable Location Services
By enabling Location Services, you allow installed applications to access your GPS and change their own settings based on your geographic location.

Step 6. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list of available connections on the screen
Skip this step if you do not have access to a wireless network
Part 2 of 2: Create Apple ID, iCloud and More

Step 1. Click on “Set Up as New iPad.”

Step 2. Click on “Create a Free Apple ID.” Apple ID allows you to buy apps and more from the App Store and iTunes.
Sign in with your Apple ID, if you have one, and skip to Step 9

Step 3. Enter your date of birth
The date of birth will be used for various security issues, such as if you forget your password.

Step 4. Enter your first and last name

Step 5. Enter your existing email address or select the option to create a new mail on iCloud
The email address is required to manage your account and will be used when recovering your password information.

Step 6. Choose three security questions and answer each
Security Questions can be used later to verify your identity and help with account recovery.

Step 7. Enter the secondary email address
This mail can be used when the main one was hacked or you cannot access it.

Step 8. Indicate if you want to receive notifications to your mail
If you enable this feature, you will receive newsletters from Apple about new products and programs.

Step 9. Review and accept the terms of service

Step 10. Indicate if you want to use the iCloud function
iCloud is a vault that automatically saves documents, media and personal information on Apple servers, which can be useful if you lose your iPad.

Step 11. Choose if you want to send your activity data to Apple
This information will be used to develop new products.

Step 12. Click on “Start Using iPad.” You will see your iPad's home screen as well as built-in apps. That's all.
Advice
- Customize your iPad's home screen by changing the position of the icons to your liking. Apps can be moved by clicking and holding on an icon, then dragging it to a new location. For example, if you rarely use FaceTime, then move the icon of this application to a more distant page on the home screen.
- Turn on the lock. This way you add some protection to your information. Click on “Settings”, select “General” and click on Enable Lock. You will be asked to enter a four-digit code, which you must enter each time you use your iPad.
