This article will show you how to copy photos from iPad to your Windows or Mac OS X computer.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On Windows

Step 1. Connect iPad to your computer
Connect one end of the iPad charging cable to the charging port of your tablet and the other end to a USB port on your computer.

Step 2. Launch iTunes
Double click on the icon of this app, which looks like a multicolored musical note on a white background. To get Windows to recognize your iPad, first open iTunes.
- If you don't have iTunes on your computer, please install this program first.
- If iTunes needs an update, you will be prompted to click Update iTunes. When the program is updated, restart your computer.

Step 3. Wait for the iPad icon to appear on the screen
It will appear in the upper left side of the iTunes window.
You may need to click Trust This Computer (or a similar button) to display the iPad-shaped icon

Step 4. Open the Start Menu

Click on the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.

Step 5. Click on Photos
If you don't see the option listed in the Start menu, type photos in the Start menu search bar, and then click Photos at the top of that menu

Step 6. Click Import
It's in the upper-right side of the Photos window. A dropdown menu will open.

Step 7. Click From USB Device
It's in the drop-down menu. The computer will scan the iPad and find the photos on it.

Step 8. Select photos
Uncheck unnecessary photos, or click Deselect All, and then click each photo you want.

Step 9. Click Continue
It's near the bottom of the window.

Step 10. Uncheck the box next to "Delete imported items"
It's near the bottom of the window. This will keep the copied photos on your iPad.

Step 11. Click Import
This button is at the bottom of the window. The process of copying the photos to your computer begins. When the process is complete, a notification will be displayed in the lower right corner of your computer screen.
Method 2 of 2: On Mac OS X

Step 1. Connect iPad to your computer
Connect one end of the iPad charging cable to the charging port of your tablet and the other end to a USB port on your computer.
If the charging cable has a USB 3.0 plug, buy a USB3.0 to USB-C adapter

Step 2. Launch the "Photos" application
Click on the multicolored flower icon in the dock.

Step 3. Select iPad
Click on the name of your iPad on the left side of the window under Devices.
If iPad doesn't appear on the left side of the window, unlock your tablet by pressing the Home button, enter your password, and press the Home button again

Step 4. Select photos
To do this, click on each desired photo.
Skip this step if you want to copy all photos at once that are not on your computer

Step 5. Click Import Selected
It's in the upper right corner of the window. The process of copying the selected photos to your computer begins.
- The button will also display the number of selected photos (for example, "Import 10 Selected").
- To copy any photos that are not on your computer, click Import All New Photos.

Step 6. Wait for the copying process to complete
To view the copied photos, go to the Albums tab on the left side of the window.
