In this article, we are going to show you how to recover a locked iPod using iTunes or iCloud. If you have a backup, you can restore the data, but this process will erase all of the iPod's contents. There is no other way to recover your locked iPod.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: iTunes

Step 1. Connect your iPod to your computer
If your iPod is locked, the only way to unlock the device is to completely erase and reset the iPod. If you have a backup, you can restore it; otherwise, all data will be lost. It is impossible to unlock your iPod if you do not know the correct password or delete it.
If you don't have iTunes access to your computer, go to the iCloud Website section

Step 2. Open iTunes and select your iPod
An iPod-shaped icon appears at the top of the screen.
If you need to enter a passcode (when you connect your iPod to your computer) or if you've never synced an iPod with iTunes on your computer, go to the Recovery Mode section

Step 3. Click Back to back up your iPod
It can be used to restore data when iPod settings are reset.
Make sure the backup will be created in the This PC folder

Step 4. Click "Restore iPod" to start the factory reset process
It will most likely take a few minutes. Once the process is complete, set up your iPod as a new device.

Step 5. Select "Restore from iTunes Copy" when setting up your iPod
This will download the backup you created and restore your data.
Method 2 of 4: iCloud Website

Step 1. Use this method if you do not have access to your computer
You can reset your iPod settings at Find My iPhone if you've signed in to your iPod with your Apple ID and if Find My iPod is enabled in the iCloud menu. Use this method only if the iPod is connected to a wireless network.
Since you are using the website, you will not be able to create a new backup. This means that all your data will be lost, but you can load previous backups, if any

Step 2. Open icloud.com/find on another computer or device
To do this, use a web browser on any device or computer; you can also use Find My iPhone on another iOS device.

Step 3. Log in with your Apple ID
Sign in with the same Apple ID you used on your iPod.

Step 4. Click "All Devices" at the top of the window
All of your Apple devices that are associated with your Apple ID will be displayed.

Step 5. Select your iPod in the list
The device information will be displayed on its map.

Step 6. Click "Erase" and confirm your actions
A signal is sent to the iPod to initiate the reset process; the process itself will take some time.
If Find My iPhone is unable to communicate with your iPod, use the other method described in this article

Step 7. Set up your iPod as new
Do this when the factory reset process is complete. You can now upload your backup; if not, download the music files again.
Method 3 of 4: Recovery Mode

Step 1. Use this method if iTunes asks for a password or if you have never synced iPod with iTunes
If this happens, you need to turn on recovery mode on the iPod to restore the device without having to use a passcode.
You cannot back up your iPod in recovery mode. Therefore, all your data will be lost

Step 2. Turn off your iPod
This is required to start the process. Press and hold the power button and then slide the slider that appears on the screen to turn off your iPod.

Step 3. Connect your iPod to your computer and launch iTunes
This is the only way to use the recovery mode. It doesn't matter here if you've synced your iPod to this computer or not.

Step 4. Open iTunes
If you don't have iTunes, download it for free at apple.com/itunes/download.

Step 5. Press and hold the Power button and the Home button
Do not release the buttons when the Apple logo appears on the screen. Continue holding the buttons until the iTunes logo appears on the iPod screen.
If the Home button doesn't work, download TinyUmbrella from firmwareumbrella.com, launch the program, and then hit Enter Recovery Mode

Step 6. Click "Restore" in the window that opens in iTunes
The iPod restore process begins.
If this process didn't work, go to the next section

Step 7. Set up your iPod
When the restore process is complete, set up your iPod as new. If you have a backup, download it.
Method 4 of 4: Firmware Upgrade Mode (DFU)

Step 1. Use this method if the recovery mode was not successful
The firmware update mode is the same as the recovery mode and can be used to restore the iPod. IPod cannot be backed up in DFU mode.

Step 2. Turn off your iPod
This is required to enter DFU mode. Press and hold the power button and then slide the slider that appears on the screen to turn off your iPod.

Step 3. Connect your iPod to your computer and launch iTunes
This is the only way to use the firmware update mode. It doesn't matter here if you've synced your iPod to this computer or not.
If the Home button doesn't work, download TinyUmbrella from firmwareumbrella.com, launch the program, and then press Enter DFU Mode

Step 4. Press and hold the power button for three seconds
Time your watch.

Step 5. Continue holding the Power button and start holding the Home button
Start holding the Home button after holding the Power button for three seconds.

Step 6. Hold both buttons for ten seconds and then release the power button
Continue to hold the Home button.

Step 7. Continue to hold the Home button for ten seconds
The screen will be black, but iTunes will tell you that it has detected the iPod in recovery mode. Now release the Home button.

Step 8. Click "Recover" to start the recovery process
It will take some time.

Step 9. Set up your iPod as new
If you have a backup, download it; otherwise, all your data will be lost.
