Scared that the screen on your iPod is frozen? Don't worry, a lot of people have this problem and it's easy to fix. This article will show you how to do this.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Method 1 of 2: iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad

Step 1. Connect your iPod Touch or iPhone to the computer with which the device is synced
To use this method, you need access to iTunes.

Step 2. Press and hold the "Home" and "Sleep" buttons at the same time
The Apple logo should appear, then the device shuts down, and then the logo reappears - all of this should happen within 10 seconds of holding the two buttons.

Step 3. Continue holding the Home and Sleep buttons until the device asks to connect to iTunes
This should happen around 30 seconds of holding the two buttons. A message about connecting to iTunes should appear on the computer screen. Click "OK."

Step 4. Click the "Restore" button in the iTunes window

Step 5. Click "Update and Restore"

Step 6. Click "OK" when iTunes asks you not to disconnect iPod from iTunes
Do not touch the device; give iTunes time to recognize it.

Step 7. Re-sync iPod with iTunes
Restarting your device this way will unfortunately delete all music, videos and pictures, so you'll have to sync it again to restore the contents.
Method 2 of 2: Method 2 of 2: iPod with a Click-Wheel

Step 1. Place iPod on a flat surface to make it easier to press buttons

Step 2. Connect your iPod to a power source
You can use any power source: a regular wall outlet / adapter, a FireWire port (for 3G models and above), or a powerful USB 2.0 port on your computer.
You can try solving the problem first without connecting to a power source, but if that doesn't work, this is a sign that the device needs recharging

Step 3. Set the "Hold" button on the iPod to the hold position
Then turn it off again.

Step 4. Hold the "Menu" button and the "center" button (button in the middle) at the same time for 6-7 seconds until the screen reboots, then release the buttons

Step 5. Wait a few minutes or longer until the Apple logo appears on the screen
This means that your iPod is rebooting and the menu will appear on the screen shortly. iPod is rebooted!
